Good win. Withstood the run. Beat Butler, and we've got a strong case for top 10 heading into conference play.

Butler pantsed Florida today so that game's gonna be a beast. The Nze/Vital matchup will be great to watch unfold. Also, 8p tip so no excuses fielding a raucous home court advantage!

This game followed kind of a similar trend as that Washington game, but this time we were able to withstand the punch and hold on. That's improvement.

This team is good. It's going to be a lot of fun to watch come conference time.

And they closed out Nova fine. The whole second half was a brutal display of ball from both sides. I like how they were able to win a shorthanded slugfest in front of what could be described as a neutral court at best.

definitely a road atmosphere for our Bears. We need to hire Fuentes to attack the Waco attendance problem right away. Obviously understandable that hardcore Baylor fans were in DFW today for the Big12 football championship game. But they are giving away FREE tickets to Waco residents and Arizona outnumbers Baylor fans 6 to 1? Pitiful. This problem needs to be attacked with creative solutions sooner rather than later. We have a top 15 program with another top 15 program coming to Waco Tuesday. Time to throw some money and resources at this problem and get some momentum heading into the new arena.

talk to fuentes often and always tell him how surprised I am with the lack of support here... back home (el paso) we would average 11k with the type of schedule baylor has....... I dont understand how the city cant get behind this group... its such a fun team to watch, they play hard and they definitely have a top 15 team.... just dont get it...

there are a lot of reasons which have been discussed ad nauseaum on this board, but the bottom line is we better find someone with tremendous passion and energy to attack this problem. We also need to clone as many basketball fans as possible and get them to live as close to Waco as they can. But we need to convert 1000 in Waco to hardcore Baylor basketball fans over the next 5 years. It may take a lot of knocking on doors and 1 on 1 evangelism to make that happen but it can be done if we hire the right guy that has passion and enthusiasm to attack the problem. I think I know who that person should be!

THANK YOU!!!!! I have been sick at my stomach since Saturday, unable to have closure of the victory over Arizona as I awaited the closure symbol -- Bear on Bicycle - officially signifying the Baylor victory. I can finally now file this one away and move on to Butler. Please don't stretch my closure period so long next time!

I'm going to the Butler game tonight, my first game of the year. I'd love to go to more games but just don't have the time between family, running a business, and football. After the Sugar Bowl I'll focus on BBall and get to several men's and women's games.

I hope that this year's team can make it at least to the Elite Eight, and it would be a gift of the gods of the sport to make it to the Final Four, as Tech did last year. Enthusiasm can be generated by success and by an identification with the team...and this group is interesting and sometimes very exciting.

I think that the loss of Kegler and the near-loss of Clark has increased the interest level for me, and I like what I am seeing from the response of this group to the downturn of good fortune expected when the Fall session began. With Kegler and Clark operating effectively I would have expected the team to knock on the door of the Final Four, whereas the outcome of this season is now much more a mystery. That excites my interest and my support, because the loss of major players means that the ones still there must elevate their game, not just as individuals but as a collective unit, both the starters and the bench players. Hopefully, a happy outcome in March/April will make it all the sweeter for those of us who rise and fall with this team.

As we know, there is not much of a basketball culture in this state, so the challenge to Baylor is to create and construct one, and only success over an extended period can accomplish that. With the players on hand and the ones coming in, I think that Drew is on course to do that, and just in time for the new arena to benefit from it.
