I know I know lol. But hey Kentucky went undefeated. Didn't win the natty I think but they didn't lose int he regular season. I see a max of 3 losses.

That's what I'm thinking. We are better than the Kentucky team that went undefeated in the regular season. If we get past the Jayhawks and Zags I don't see a team that can honesty beat us.

No way any team is going undefeated. Three losses would be fantastic. Everyone has off nights and plays teams that cannot miss. Lower your expectations a little. A few losses is no big deal but national champs is a very big deal. I am going to hope for a final four and be very happy with a national championship.

Yea, that sounds about right but as JTT and Thamba improve over the season it will be harder and harder to beat BU

That's crazy talk. Tech, WVU, and UT are all probably top 15 squads and oSu is looking pretty solid. We'll have a down night or 3.

What an incredible game! And that on a night where Butler went 0-4 from 3 and only had 2pts in the second half! JTT and Flo still need some polish, but each showed marked improvement in the second half. Especially Jon. How blessed we are to have a guard like Flagler coming off the bench. That man can get buckets. I'm really excited to see just how spread out the scoring is so far this season. That's going to allow us to give max defensive effort on every play. Mayer has really learned to play within himself and be selfless. I think that will pay dividends for him and the team. He was very impressive in the defensive end as well with two big blocks and a steal that led to points iirc. I'm sure this game was an aberration for Teague and his shot is just hiding around the corner. What can be said about Vital that hasn't been already?! How about 100% from the charity stripe? If he starts making free throws consistently, we might just be unstoppable. This team is soooooo close to being a true elite, generational type squad. SIC EM!

Could be wrong but if you take all the scores from the #1 teams vs the scores from the #2 teams, the difference is only 1 point

I will not make absolute statements one way or the other. Going undefeated is possible but highly unlikely. I know the Lady Bears did it in 2012 & UConn a couple years later but has any men's team ever done that? Regardless, the odds are very much against it and 2-3 losses would not tarnish an excellent season (like last year) nor prevent a deep tournament run.

I fully expect the Bears to have another great year, contend for the Big 12 title, and make it to the Final Four. Those are reasonable and reachable goals--and I believe those are the teams goals. I expect they also have a take it one game at a time mentality. That's smart. To anyone who doubts our coaches, I think those doubts were laid to rest years ago or, at the latest, the Spring of 2020. And a national title is definitely within reach.

The last undefeated men's champ was the 1976 Indiana Hoosiers. The last team to make it to the tourney undefeated was Wichita St in 2014, who lost in the 2nd round to Kentucky.

I'm as pumped about this team as anybody, but you're right - if nothing else the Big 12 is loaded and there are going to be at least a few losses. While JTT and Flo definitely did good things in the 2nd half against Illinois, we're still vulnerable to teams with imposing, offensively skilled bigs (like WVU as an example) and as others have noted over the course of the long season there are going to be at least a few off nights for the team in general. I'm personally hoping for a Big 12 championship and at least a Final Four appearance which this team is clearly capable of doing.

Flagler is assuming the old Mayer role -- step off the bench and just bomb shots up with no one near the basket. Let's see LJ.

Your takes are so bad it reeks of bias. Do you have a relationship with any of the players on the team?

That's a weird stat. You're trying to say that these games are always close. But if you only had rwo games in history and one game was #1 over #2 by 20 points and the other game was #2 over #1 by 19 points, the difference would be 1 point. But they would be two blowouts.

Absolutely. In a 1-game scenario, any team can lose to a comparable team. I'm not worried about losing 2-3 games over the course of the season, but with this team, I really just want to win the Big 12 regular season and make a Final Four.

Agreed. It would be nice, though, to also sweep Kansas, Texas, TCU, & a couple others. Even better: sweep the Big 12. This might be the year to do it! I'm probably dreaming & I certainly won't mind at all if we drop a game or two along the way but still win the conference & get to the Final Four.

Actually, it aged very well. While JTT had a better 2nd half, his rebounds didn't come from boxing out. It came from speed racing to the corner to grab a karoom. So, try again. And, maybe next time, don't be a little punk a** wuss and wait until AFTER you see results. Come on in and play with the big boys in the game thread as the game progresses instead of hiding in your momma's basement.
