#2 Baylor (7-0) used a 19-2 run coming out of the second half to build a 30 point plus lead against UCA (1-7) en route to a 93-56 win. The Bears have a quick turnaround to a game versus Alcorn State (0-4) tomorrow at 2pm CST in Waco.
Positives
- Forced 24 turnovers (+14 in turnover margin)
- Despite allowing 12-26 on three pointers, the Bears only allowed 0.71 points per possession.
- 12 assists for Davion Mitchell. 2.5 assists to turnover ratio as a team.
- Great efforts from Matthew Mayer and Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua off the bench. Active on both ends of the court.
- Jared Butler had it cooking offensively in the first half but also made the “right plays” in the second half. Loved all the backdoor cuts. Teague scored on a handful of layups from those.
Needs Improvement
- Perimeter defense (12-26) needs to get cleaned up.
- A little sloppy on the turnovers (8 in first half)
- Only 9 offensive rebounds. Usually over 10 each game. Normally we grab 40% of misses and only 24% today. Mark Vital’s rebounding numbers have been down, doesn’t seem like he’s as quick to the ball.
