I repeat, with Mayer in the game we went on a run and had an 8 point lead with a few minutes to go. He comes out for good and we lose by 9. Please present some advanced stat that disputes that point.

I don't need any stats I have a set of eyes. He got beat by his guy routinely on defense. He was lazy with the ball for stretches. Matt Mayer is either terrific or a complete liability. Blaming Drew is laughable

You need a new set of eyes. How did they take an 8 point lead with him in and lose by 9 with him out.

Because Cade Cunningham took over. Matt was 2-6.. quit acting like he was the reason we went up 8. Good lord am I arguing with Matt's dad? Perhaps his lover? Which is it? He played limited minutes because he was a liability defensively (gave up SEVERAL EASY buckets) and he dribbles the air out of the ball before forcing up bad shots

Why wasn't OSU tired today ? If Drew's bench would perform they would play more. Right now the bench is crapping their pants. That includes your boyfriend Mr Mayer

I don't hate any of them at all. Pointing out why they didn't play since BUCandoit seems to think we lost because of Drew's coaching. Drew didn't play Matt because he was getting beat defensively on the regular.

You can't play the bench guys when they're playing this poorly. That's not me hating anyone. Will they play their way out of it? Yes they always do at least from what I've seen. But acting like we lost due to Drew's coaching and not playing the bench is hilarious

I'd like to see him pass back out to a guard if it's not an uncontested layup or dunk. Nothing good comes from Vital going at a defender down low. He either misses a tough shot, gets called for a charge or is fouled and goes 1 of 2 from the line if we're lucky. He's not on the floor for his offense, and he needs to know that. Do the dirty work and leave the scoring to the scorers.

I thought Osu was able to keep from getting tired by playing some zone defense. In a tournament it can really help and save your legs especially the other team is not making shots.

We lost to a hot ass team. With a player like Cade and some of their other players stepping up they are dangerous in the NCAA. Haven't they won their last 8 of 9 games?

I agree, but that's a two-way street, which requires the guards to move without the ball, and not just be spectators when he's in that situation.

This confirms what we were seeing watching the games. He has such smooth form and good fundamentals which makes this even crazier.

I'm speculating He's gassed and it's hurting his rythm/ confidence big. Its also deep into his first high level season (high D1). Hopefully his health is ok.

Agree. Something's not right. He's not a 4-27, 1-13 shooter by any stretch of the imagination and I don't remember him being that slow on D earlier in the year before all of this happened. If you remember, Manak of OU had it back in the late fall and it's taken him almost 3 months to get back to even a remote version of himself.
