We are still a 2 seed according to Lunardi.

UCLA has far less quality wins than us. They have the #15 RPI. Why should UCLA be ahead of us? Because they play in the Pac 12 and face trash teams 80% of the time? This stuff isn't as simple as looking at overall records.

Baylor owns an incredible body of work despite our disappointing finish to the season. We are 25-7 against the #5 SOS. Seems like some of you have lost sight of the big picture.

Drew has made us respectable. IMO he can stay as long as he likes. I don't think, however, there are any Final Fours in our future. Not a big deal to me but I know some of you are much bugger bball fans.
sorry to single you out, but how does tonight's loss have any impact on Drew's ability to make the Final Four? that is an absurd point to bring up right now.

man, some of you guys go off the rails when we lose. this is the #1 basketball league in the country, and we are not Kansas. we will lose our share of games in this league, even when we have very good teams.

we are about to be a 3 seed AT WORST (my money is on 2 seed) and we have a bunch of Chicken Littles running around here... insanity.

I agree with the gist, but we aren't the #1 league. I don't care what Kenpom says. And you are definitely right about "losing our share " as we seem to clearly have regressed to a .500 team

I find that disappointing. I think others do to

But hey, in November we beat Louisville and Mich St. That was fun

The Big 12 is clearly the #1 league due to not having a weak team and having 3 top 12 teams. The margin isn't close. The ACC has 15 teams so you have to adjust for that.

KenPom doesn't care about your opinion.

We have not regressed to a .500 team, that is absurd to say. We are 6-6 in our last 12 but what do you think our record would be in any other league? If you think 6-6 then we'll just agree to disagree and move on.

scratch Purdue off the list of teams that have a chance to take Baylor's 2 seed.

UCLA
Duke
Arizona (longshot)
FSU (longshot)
WVU (big longshot)
Florida (big longshot)

also, I think we are safely ahead of fellow 2 seed Louisville, so 2 of these teams would have to win out and then pass both of us.

the only way I see us not being a 2 seed is if Duke and UCLA both win out. I think we are good otherwise.

Purdue loss really helps. Would also love to avoid a possible Michigan 2nd round game as they're salty.

UCLA/Arizona will take care of itself. Louisville still bothers me but we have the H2H advantage. UNC has to dispatch Duke, hopefully soundly later.

I'd rather be a 3 seed out west than 2 seed in the east.

6-6 is .500 unless math has changed

ACC had Duke v Louisville as a 4 v 5 game. Bottom teams like NCSt have NBA players. It is a superior league IMO and just about anyone else who covers college basketball

I think with UCLA losing last night we have held on to our 2 seed.

Lunardi has us as a #3 this morning, with Duke and Arizona passing us and Louisville. While both can lose tonight, Duke has a leading 12 top 50 wins and Arizona is #4 RPI, while our RPI has fallen to #11. Looking less promising for a #2. The nightmare would be a #3 matched up against #2 Duke.

like I said, what do you think our record would have been in other leagues? do you think 6-6 in our last 12 is realistic in any other league than the Big 12 or ACC?

sure, the ACC had Duke and Louisville in a 4 vs 5. that is the #6 and #12 kenpom teams. it's also about the same as a 2 vs 3 match-up in the Big 12, which would have featured #4 WVU and #11 Baylor, if our leagues weren't structured so differently due to the ACC having 50% more teams.

our bottom team is Texas. they have a lottery pick and a few other guys on the future 1st round radar, like Jones. there are 4 ACC teams rated lower than Texas, our last place team and #73 overall. the top 8 teams in the Big 12 are all in the top 45. the ACC would need 12 teams in the top 45 to equal that, but they only have 10.

the Big 12 is the strongest league from top to bottom. KenPom numbers do not lie. our opinions are not > than the best single metric in all of sports.

also, we play a true round robin where no team escapes a road gym, and there isn't a huge imbalance in the scheduling, like there is in the ACC. this is how you get Duke and Louisville in a 4 vs 5, the schedules are whack.

and your "just about anyone else who covers college basketball" line is silly. plenty of pundits agree that the Big 12 is the toughest league.

I'll be waiting for you to post anything with a shred of sports substance beyond the usual "we have 0 chance to lose this game, our opponent sucks" shtick and your genius "piss on TCU" posts.

I'm not here for that. I bring more substance and humor to this board than anyone else. Any genuis with a sunken chest can regurgitate KenPom stats and figure out that we're way ahead of Kansas State.
