sitting at the computer all day? I have tried cheapo's and my back is feeling the pain nowadays.

Is an X chair worth it? That much better?

I have found that paying extra for a chair that is designed for lots of sitting and is super comfortable is well worth it.

Currently I have a Serta Smart layers chair and it was well worth the higher price.

Find a different job. We weren't meant to sit on our ass all day.

Chairs are important but only a small part of the equation.

Do you need a chair that adjust so you can have a slightly open angle of the hips and a slightly open angle of the knees- between 90 and 100..

First, stand in front of the chair, and adjust the height so that the highest point of the seat is below the kneecap. Then adjust the angle and height of the chair's backrest so that it supports the hollow in the lower back. Finally, adjust the seat-pan tilt to a comfortable position. The seat of the chair should be about seven inches below whatever surface you're working at which should allow open angle elbows.

If you're okay with spending a couple extra bucks, the Herman Miller Aeron is the gold standard IMO.

I have had this chair for 4-5 yrs. Still use it. Very overrated.
