bizarre. but I get it.

It worked once - to perfection. Wouldnt make sense to do it again because the other team will simply jump on the ball before it goes 10 yds.

So Special Teams won the game after losing it at least twice (really bad fake punts)
Yep...on the two fakes I wouldn't have done them for sure as I am in favor of if you are going to go for it then leave your offense out there.

They certainly could/should have jumped on it, but jumping on a spinning football when you don't have to (prior to 10 yards) is akin to playing with fire in a den of large carnivorous cats.

Yeah, I do think the way the ball was spinning probably brought an element of caution to falling on the ball in their minds plus I do think they didn't think the ball would make it 10 yards so why risk falling on it. What a jedi mind trick of a kick...

gotta give Dak credit. some really good stuff although he kept his Greedy Dak moniker taking 3 of Zeke's TD runs away from him. The big question, out of the 5 rushes he had, he scored 3 times, Why didnt he score on the other two?

Trysten Hill - what has got into that kid? Dang, Playing like a 2nd rounder

Kellen Moore - the time has come, to say fair's fair, to pay his rent, to pay his share. The time has come, a fact's a fact, he belongs to Detroit, lets give him back

The Cowboys essentially committed 5 turnovers (3 fumbles and 2 failed fake punts) and got none. A minus 5 TO differential and a win? Impossible.

Dak - Dak's TD runs were short yardage read options where the Atlanta DE dictated him keeping the ball by crashing in. The other two runs as I recall were a scramble from a collapsing pocket and the other a designed QB draw away from the red zone.

Hill - He has really turned it around and what is interesting to me, from what I can gather, it wasn't just the coaching change but even more so mentoring from Gerald McCoy for the cup of coffee that we had him that made a huge difference. What does that say to you about guys like Tank and Crawford for being leaders and mentors?

Moore - Agreed that his play calling leaves a lot to be desired though I though he quickly got the message with the OT situation and started calling more quick plays like slants and screens. There was one where Zeke is split out and runs a bubble screen that would have been very nice if Lamb actually has a good block on his DB. The tempo and pace of the offense after the 1st quarter helped to and makes you wonder why didn't you do this last week or the first quarter. Going to Seattle will be enlightening to see if he goes conservative again like in LA and like last year on the road or if he will just play aggressive.

The first time I saw someone try an onside kick like that was the Patriots a number of years ago. It didn't work and I don't think they tried it many times after that.

The onside kick wasn't the most surprising thing in this game to me because the Falcons are the Falcons. Dalton Schultz was the big surprise. I would have never dreamed 89 yds and a td in his first game as the primary TE. We'll see if he can keep it up. If so, then Pollard will get less touches like he did on Sunday.

Zeke still looked good. CeeDee is a star in the making. Dak is the second best red zone QB runner behind Cam Newton. Trevon Diggs played really well overall again. He might be the best CB on the team but just has to finish plays. Joe Thomas deserves a mention.

Agree with all of this. I would say the no-name OTs deserve some credit as well. Giving up only one sack is amazing under the circumstances.

Just seeing this makes me think even more that Garrett played his post-Cowboys departure poorly. He should have done the McCarthy thing and sat a year and then get back into the HC rotation at somewhere like Detroit. Instead he has hitched his career to what was an already meh Giants offense, with his own offensive inadequacies being the icing on the cake.

I saw KJ Morton put him on IR some years ago.
Winning by cheating is just as impressive as winning fairly, probably even more so. Your opponent was better than you in every way, and you beat them with your brain.

Ooof. I hope that doesn't mean he has to line up against DJ Metcalf. That's a matchup nightmare. It's gonna have to be Diggs most of the game.

NO doubt. They may use Carr at corner inside the Red Zone though. Metcalf doesn't run good enough routes that Carr couldn't cover him in a condensed field.
