According to ESPN's Todd Archer, those two quarterbacks are San Jose State's Nick Starkel and New Mexico's Terry Wilson. The likelihood is that these players will not beat out Cooper Rush for a spot in the depth chart, but they can still earn an invite to Training Camp based on their play this weekend.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, this isn't Starkel's first rodeo in rookie minicamp. The undrafted quarterback was asked to be a quarterback at the New York Jets rookie camp last weekend, where he thought he did very well.

Starkel has made many stops around the NCAA. The Texas native started his FBS career with the Texas A&M Aggies before dropping behind Kellen Mond on the depth chart. He then transferred to Arkansas, where he played just eight games and had a not-so-great 53.8% completion rating. The 6-3 QB's last stop was at San Jose State where he improved his game. In two seasons at SJSU, he collected 3,819 passing yards and 26 touchdowns. Here's what the UDFA had to say about his opportunity with the Cowboys:

Wilson spent most of his college career at Kentucky before transferring to New Mexico for his latest season. What stands out about Wilson is his rushing ability. He had over 1,000 rushing yards in college to go along with a 63.3% average completion percentage. At Kentucky, he earned the name "Terry Touchdown," collecting 3,400 passing yards in three years. His transfer to New Mexico sadly didn't help much. Wilson's completion percentage dropped to 58% in his final collegiate year.

Again, it's unlikely that either of these quarterbacks gives Prescott or Rush a run for their money. But this is likely a dream come true for both guys, who can earn a Training Camp invite with an outstanding performance.

On Friday, Tyler Smith he worked primarily at left guard with fellow draft pick Matt Waletzko serving as his linemate at left tackle.

Perhaps as early as Saturday, offensive line coaches Joe Philbin and Jeff Blasko could have him working more at tackle though Smith said he wasn't sure what the big picture looks like just yet.

The Dallas Cowboys have no update on cornerback Kelvin Joseph's status for the 2022 season but he is still on the team and is having a productive off season, according to coach Mike McCarthy. Joseph was a passenger in a vehicle from which fatal gunshots were fired on March 18.. Police announced the arrests of Aries Jones, 28, and Tivione English, 21, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in the death of Cameron Ray after speaking with Joseph.

Joseph was not arrested. The investigation remains open, per Dallas police. Under Texas law, charges can be filed against anyone in the car at the time of the shooting.

The situation is being reviewed by the NFL under the league's personal conduct policy and he could face suspension. McCarthy said he understands the concern about Joseph continuing to remain with the Cowboys during the process. He has been at the headquarters in Frisco working out daily. McCarthy said the Cowboys feel it's best to support Joseph at this time.

"I just want you to know that when the situation occurred, we had a lot of internal conversation that was really in-depth," McCarthy said. "Based off the information we've been given, we felt it was important to support him. He's been here every day and he's having a very productive offseason so far." The Cowboys selected Joseph with the No. 44 overall pick in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft.

As a rookie, Joseph appeared in 10 games and made two starts, registering 16 tackles, two passes defended, one fumble recovery and no interceptions.

Not only is Tyler Smith on the field Friday for his first-ever NFL practice, but he's only got a new contract as well.
The Cowboys first-round pick officially signed his contract Friday morning before taking part in the first practice of a rookie minicamp at The Star.

Smith, the No. 24 overall pick, signed his four-year deal that also includes a fifth-year option. The deal is reportedly worth $13.3 million over the first four years.

The Cowboys are expected to sign all fifth-round picks and their sixth-round pick over the weekend. It's expected the team will have to continue negotiations with picks 2-3-4 that could last past this weekend.

Smith said on Thursday he expects to start out as a "left side" player, meaning he will not only get reps at left guard but left tackle, where he played at Tulsa during his collegiate career.

Elliott suffered a partial PCL tear on Oct. 4 during a Week 4 win over the Carolina Panthers. At a news conference Friday, McCarthy brought out the data Friday when a reporter asked if Elliott is currently 100%.

"I would hope so," McCarthy said. "I was looking at the GPS [Thursday] of the workouts, I think, Tuesday. Twenty-two miles an hour. That's pretty damn good. So, yeah, he looks great."

A dip in Elliott's explosiveness became particularly noticeable in the 12 games that followed the Cowboys' bye week. He reached 5 yards per carry in only one of them after three such games during the season's first five weeks.

In March, major concerns were raised about the future of former LSU linebacker Damone Clark after he was diagnosed with a spinal condition that required surgery and will likely force him to miss his rookie year. The Cowboys ultimately drafted Clark late in the fifth round, much later than expected before his injury was diagnosed, but Clark feels confident he landed in the right place.

That's in part because it was the Cowboys' medical staff that diagnosed the spinal condition in a pre-draft exam.

Cowboys LB Jabril Cox named as Dallas' "breakout player" in 2022

When the Dallas Cowboys selected LSU linebacker Jabril Cox in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, there was plenty of optimism surrounding the pick. Cox was coming off a very impressive senior season at LSU in which he recorded 58 total tackles, 6.5 TFL, and three interceptions. The 24-year-old figured to play a big role in Dallas' linebacker rotation during his rookie year.

Unfortunately for the Cowboys and Cox, the linebacker saw only limited playing time before suffering a torn ACL that forced him to miss the rest of the season.

The Cowboys' first two preseason games are Aug. 13 at Denver and Aug. 20 at LA during camp, which is held annually in Oxnard, Calif. The full camp schedule has not yet been announced, but the Cowboys are expected to practice one day in Denver and two practices with the Chargers in Los Angeles.

Head coach Mike McCarthy scheduled one joint practice with the Rams last August in Oxnard and was pleased with the results. He described it as a "professional thud" format in terms of physicality, not a full-contact practice.
In the past, the Cowboys have practiced against the Chargers in San Diego for a few days in 2012 and also split some practices with the Broncos in 2008 in Denver.

"These practices give you an opportunity to get a lot of quality work done and lower the risk that you obviously have to go through to play in preseason games," McCarthy said then.

The Cowboys played the Chargers and Broncos last year in the regular season, beating LA on a last-second field goal in Week 2 and falling to Denver, 30-16, in Week 9 easily the most lopsided loss of the season.
