Should the Cowboys offer Suh?

last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Suh collected six sacks, 13 QB hits, 27 tackles, seven TFL (tackles for loss), and one fumble recovery. Comparing those stats to the Cowboys DTs, he would have ranked 1st in almost all categories except for total tackles, as he would have been 3rd.

Man, this is a tough one, RBs generally have a short lifespan, and Pollard's contract is up at the of the year. He is at the end of his rookie contract.

What do you offer someone who never started but has all th attributes of a starting RB with little tread on the tires.

If you figure Zeke will be gone next year, via trade or cut, so be it. If you signed Pollard, you have your starter.

WR Noah Brown's Return to Cowboys Could Only be Temporary

Noah Brown is currently preparing for a sixth season with the Cowboys, having recently re-signed with the team on a new one-year contract. But given the changed landscape of the WR position in Dallas in 2022, could Brown's return wind up being short-lived?

A 7th-round pick in 2017, Noah keeps finding work with the Cowboys as a willing blocker and special teamer. He's only had 66 targets on offense his entire career and has never scored a touchdown, but Brown's provided enough value in other ways that Dallas has allowed him to play out his rookie contract and given him two one-year deals to stick around.

Last season Noah returned as a core special teamer but only received a slight uptick in offensive usage. While Brown was only one spot below Cedrick Wilson on Dallas' WR depth chart, the divide between them was much bigger in how they were utilized and their offseason fortunes.

While Cedrick got a multi-year deal to join the Miami Dolphins in March, Brown is back on just a $1.1 million contract with only $137k of guaranteed money. His 2022 roster spot is far from certain and there's a conceivable scenario where he may not have one at all, or at least not for long.

Once again the Cowboys seem to have a fairly clear top four at receiver: CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, James Washington, and Jalen Tolbert. Though he'll have a better chance at competing with Washington and Tolbert than he did with last year's group, Brown will still be in an uphill battle for playing time.

Yes
That means we probably have to sign Pollard. How much? $4 per for 3-4 years? Would that get him and can he be the lead back?

I dont think we are signing Pollard unless we are just wanting to see what his market is.

So go into 2023 with no RBs of the starting nature?

Right now we have 34 yoa Malik Davis, Rico Dowdle, Zeke, Jaquan Hardy, Tony P, and 32 yoa Aaron Shampklin at RB. Not sure there are any keepers outside of 1 and 2

I dont like it but Cap Boy...

Seriously, I would have resigned Pollard this off season but I think the Cowboys want someone else tonset the price and then they can decide if they want to match it.

This is why you typically saw a RB in my mocks.

Dallas Cowboys: LB Trenton Simpson, Clemson
The Cowboys linebacker corps is littered with question marks and it's a position that Dallas priorities. Simpson is an explosive linebacker with a high recruiting pedigree that emerged as a star for Clemson in 2021.

I dont think the Cowboys draft another RB in the first round going forward. Zeke is their lesson learned on that.

Most of the rest of the RBs are more late 2nd or later. Not sure what kind of quality they are

btw - Connor Galvin went 11th or 12th in both my mocks, lots of Bears getting drafted

I do think that Stephen from a cap perspective has the same philosophy as the rest of the league in terms of not drafting running backs early and not paying them, not the mention the Zeke sting. I could be wrong but I would be shocked if we drafted another RB in the first round.
'
As for Bears, good to see the fruits of Rhule and Aranda's labor blossoming into draft picks. This will only help recruiting.

Tyron Smith was held out of Wednesday's OTA practice with lower-back tightness, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

Smith apparently has been working with the team during all the off-season conditioning programs and the OTA practices, but was held out Wednesday for precautionary reasons.

In his place, second-year pro Josh Ball worked at left tackle with the first team.

Rookie safety Markquese Bell made one of the best plays of the OTA practice on Wednesday.

It's just another example how the undrafted rookie continues to shine.

"He's been impressive," head coach Mike McCarthy said. "He jumped out at the minicamp. He was very impressive in the zoom calls (leading up to the NFL Draft)."

McCarthy said Bell, who starred at Florida A&M, has similar traits as Jayron Kearse, who has a hybrid role of safety and linebacker.

"That definitely helps. That's part of our attraction to him," McCarthy said of Bell, who was one of the Cowboys' 30 visits.

The Cowboys lined up CeeDee Lamb and Simi Fehoko as the first-team starters at receiver on Wednesday. Lamb is where he's supposed to be, but Fehoko got the nod as the Cowboys had three other receivers down with injuries.

Michael Gallup continues to rehab his ACL injury and his hopeful to return by the start of the regular season. James Washington was in a walking boot and should miss at least another week. Rookie WR Jalen Tolbert is working through a hamstring issue.
