I think he would be perfect for Dak. Runs well after the catch (when he's healthy). Use Cook for the deep threat at CeeDee as the #1 option and Hopkins as the #3. Still not sure how healthy Gallup is until he shows what he's got but anytime we run a 4 WR set, Dak is gonna have OPTIONS!

As a Houston resident, I can also say that Hop is a good guy.

Just hope he can help get us to the show
Winning by cheating is just as impressive as winning fairly, probably even more so. Your opponent was better than you in every way, and you beat them with your brain.

We have about $9m in cap space, Beckham signed for about $15m per and Hopkins was scheduled for $19m per. Not sure what we would offer but without a doubt we would have to restructure some folk(s) but Stephen J is really good at getting that kind of stuff done.

McShay's way too early mock draft:

26. Dallas Cowboys
JC Latham, OT, Alabama*
Tyron Smith and Terence Steele are both set to be free agents after the upcoming season, and Dallas was 27th in pass block win rate last year (52.9%). Latham has a 6-foot-6, 326-pound frame, plays with power and has versatility. He allowed just one sack over 13 starts last season. Latham is also a real asset in the run game at right tackle, where he could help spring Tony Pollard.

That's all well and good but do we think he'll still be there pick 32?

"Super Bowl or not. This is it," Bayless said on FS1's "Undisputed on Wednesday morning. "This is a possession receiver. ... Man, he can run underneath routes where you can just throw it up to him, and he will snatch it like a tight end. Why wouldn't you do it? .... It's sending the proverbial message to the locker room (that) we are serious about this.
Quote:

"Because DeAndre Hopkins is serious. Not that he's got rings, but he comes in with cache, because he's a proven, big-time receiver. He's made five Pro Bowls and three first-team All-Pro. ... I'm trying to maximize (quarterback Dak Prescott)'s ability. You give him another weapon that he can completely, utterly trust under fire."

re: Kicker

"We're looking at the other leagues. We're looking at guys that are out on the streets, guys that potentially come in a trade," said vice president of player personnel Will McClay to start the second week of OTAs. "It's a big mix of all that stuff and when the time is that we find the right kicker to add to the competition."

The potential opportunities for Will Grier expanded this week when the NFL owners voted on a provision to allow a third quarterback to be available on a game-day roster in the event that the top two quarterbacks go down with injury, a rule that has not been available to teams in the past/

Havent heard about this. Will that be a plus one to the Active gameday roster?

Yes. There will be a plus 1 on the gameday roster in case of emergency.

-The QB has to be on the 53 man active roster (cannot be on the Practice Squad)
-The other 2 QB's would have to leave the game due to injury, not ineffectiveness.
-One of the other QB's could re-enter the game only if the 3rd QB were hurt and the re-entering one was given the go ahead by the NFL's 3rd party medical staff.

So three QBs will be on the active roster if we decide to carry three on gameday? Thats a plus one on non-gameday too. We only had two during most of last season, didnt we?

On gameday, you have a 45 man roster. So this will be 45 with your 2 QB's, and the +1 (or 46th man) is the QB3. We haven't carried a 3rd man on the standard 53 in a while. McCarthy isn't fond of using a roster spot for QB3.

Thats what I was thinking. Grier was on the practice squad which (now) cannot be used for the #3 gameday Qb. They should have allowed for a plus one for the Active Roster too.

The Dallas Cowboys picked up the fifth-year option for wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, meaning he'll be with the team for this season, but will have to through contract negotiations in the near future. But he doesn't sound too concerned about the impending contract talks.

This week, CeeDee Lamb made it clear that the concerns about his upcoming contract and potential big payday will not distract him from his play on the field or his work in practice.

"Quite honestly, I'll be 100-percent honest, I'm not even distracted," Lamb said according to the Dallas Cowboys official team site. "The money, definitely worried about it, but it's not something that's on my mind every day or when I come to the building. I'm not thinking about how much money I'm gonna make if I do this. It's really all about coming in, showing my worth, and letting everything else handle itself."

Callaway, who last played an NFL game in 2020, joined the Cowboys' practice squad last November. He signed a reserve/future contract in January.

Appearing on the Saturday morning episode of SportsCenter, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler noted the Cowboys haven't "closed the door" on a reunion with Elliott in 2023:

"I checked in with somebody this week, who said that Dallas has not closed the door on a potential Zeke return. Now, there's nothing cooking there, and it might not happen, but I was told that Dallas certainly would re-engage in conversation if Zeke wanted to do that. But he could continue to wait and see what develops in the next few months job wise."
