The Cowboys have activated defensive end Randy Gregory from the Active/Non-Football Injury list, though it's uncertain when he'll appear in his first practice of training camp.

With Allen Hurns, Michael Gallup, Cole Beasley and Terrance Williams pretty much locked in, the road for KD is tough. Boys have never carried more than 6 WRs and sometimes went with 5. Spot 5 and maybe 6 will come down to Wilson. Deonte Thompson, Noah Brown, Lance Lenoir and K.D.

Tavon Austin sure is with the WRs a lot...
I think Stephen Jones said that they consider Austin a RB first.

Not sure Scott Linehan agrees

New wide receivers coach Sanjay Lal continues to get creative during and after training camp practice.

Not only do the Cowboys' receivers work on balance and release without the football in certain drills, Lal asks them to walk the width of the field with 25-pound bricks in each hand. The purpose is to strengthen their hands and fingers for catching and gripping the football.

As a motivational tactic, Lal participates in the drill himself.

"They never want to lose to the coach, right?" Lal said. "If the coach can walk down and back, they're going to find a way to beat the coach."

DMN Kristi Scales

Will Connor Williams make a big difference on the OL this year considering everyone stays healthy?

Scales: We're only one week into camp, but it's clear that Connor Williams may be one of the steals of the 2018 draft. To get a guy like him in the second round at No. 50 overall...are you kidding me?

Again, when most of the work in training camp is not full contact, it's hard to evaluate the play of linemen. But when you ask coaches and teammates about Williams, the reviews are glowing. And if you really want to know how an offensive lineman is performing, as the defensive linemen that go up against him every day in practice. D-linemen like Jihad Ward speak very highly of the rookie.

The reason that Williams can make such a big difference in 2018 is the offense returning to its identity as a power run team. They lost that last year when Zeke was gone and Tyron Smith missed some time due to injury. The best way to fix the Cowboys passing woes from last season is to have a strong run game and return to the 2016 formula that was so successful in Zeke and Dak's rookie season....run the ball to set up the pass.

Terrance Williams has settled the legal issues outstanding from his May arrest.
Williams was charged with public intoxication and leaving the scene of an accident. The public intoxication charged was dismissed. Williams is paying a $2,680.11 fine. The Cowboys expect him to avoid league discipline.

Bryan Broaddus of the Cowboys' website believes Blake Jarwin has been "the most impressive" tight end at training camp.
The Cowboys have puffed up Jarwin as their Jason Witten replacement. Geoff Swaim is Dallas' best in-line blocker, but Jarwin is the favorite to open the year in a starting role. Targets are up for grabs in the Cowboys' offense, so Jarwin's pass game role is worth monitoring.

Well he didn't actually say his name but yes we all know who he means. Troy expected his receivers to be where they were suppose to so that he could almost throw blind. Route runners. Yes, sorry He did say Bryant's inconsistencies. Tired tonight duh. I will just respond with thumbs up

Cowboys re-signed RB Trey Williams.

Williams has spent the last few years bouncing between practice squads. The Cowboys released OL Bryce Johnson in a corresponding move.

The Athletic's Calvin Watkins writes that there is "no clear first-team tight end" for the Cowboys.
Watkins says that Dalton Schultz, Geoff Swaim, and Blake Jarwin have all received equivalent reps with the first team, sometimes being used in pairs. Swaim is Dallas' best blocking tight end, but Jarwin remains the favorite to win the job out of camp. Rico Gathers could still be a red zone complement if given an opportunity.

ESPN's Todd Archer reports the Cowboys' offense has "has struggled in getting the ball down the field" in training camp.
"Still trying to gain chemistry," Dak Prescott said of his Dez Bryant and Jason Witten-less supporting cast. "It's going to come." OC Scott Linehan said "we've got to make strides quickly here." The Cowboys assembled embarrassingly little talent in the wake of Bryant and Witten's departures. It's going to be another long season for the Cowboys' passing attack, making life difficult on Prescott.

Ok so there wasn't enough talent there when we drafted at our position to get a better receiver and TE. Just seems like we are kinda missing the mark

Name the best WR on the Pats, Eagles, Seahawks, etc.

Let's let things play out and see where we are after week one.

I don't see a big talent problem

Mostly unproven WRs being thrown to by a young QB who struggled to hit receivers last year behind a line that hasn't performed as well as previous years. Hmmmm. But hey, they got Zeke back...!!!
