The Big 12's Prior Expansion Worked in Hindsight

With the possible demise of the PAC-12, I’ve had the thought: “Man, if the Big 12 had just waited, it’d be in a far better position to have the eight remaining Big 12 schools merge with the 10 remaining PAC-10 schools for an easy 18 team league. Instead, we picked up a few schools that nobody wanted in a power league.” 

That thought process ignores the importance of scooping up those four schools.
