Utah State transfer EDGE prospect Byron Vaughns has committed to Baylor out of the transfer portal. He becomes the first transfer commit of this spring cycle and joins a massive group of transfer additions who enrolled before spring football.

The 6-foot-4, 238-pound prospect totaled 110 tackles, 19.5 for loss, 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, seven PBUs and 61 QB pressures over the last two seasons.

Vaughns will fit in at the JACK positon for Baylor which has a young group outside of veteran leader Garmon Randolph.

This isn't the same kid that played at Texas 5 years ago is it? Oops. He answered it in the video. It is him!

Byron Vaugh had an offers from Norte Dame and USC at the end of January 2023. I think this is a good pick up for Baylor

Trivia: Utah State HC Blake Anderson, once considered a candidate for BU job, is a Hubbard, TX and Hubbard High School native and played at BU I believe. Hope that helped with the decision.

Well, it'll make the sports reporting easier.

His mother's twitter account will blast out everything that happens on the football team.

That didn't seem to be an issue at Utah State. Texas has more internal drama than most programs.

He's also only here for one year and is a guaranteed starter. I'm sure he understands that if he complains, he'll be shown the door and can just take his degree and move on in life. We are his last shot at the NFL if that's what he's wanting
