Could our current group beat any of those teams....at least the ones beginning with Ronnie Bull's time?

Yes, but it might be a struggle.

A longtime friend of ours, my mom's good buddy across the street from Richfield/Waco HS and former Baylor Baseball player, parttime football coach and fulltime baseball coach. If you wanted to learn anything about a sport, this fella would teach you. He went from teaching badminton to Bear football to Baylor baseball to teaching to Athletic Director to head of the Baylor Letterman's Association. RIP old friend

Another interesting side note. Also Roy Orbison's high school history teacher at Odessa High. As well the producer of the 90s sitcom "Coach" was an Iowa grad and named the main character Hayden Fox as a tribute to Hayden Fry.

Wesley Bradshaw, a letterman in football, basketball, track, and baseball at Baylor University, was noted for his talent in football. He was the Southwest Conference's top quarterback in 1921 and 1922, during which time he led the Bears to a pair of 8-3 season records. In 1922, he kicked 11 field goals, a record that stood for 41 years. During the 1922 game against Arkansas, he scored 30 points (four touchdowns and six PATs). By the end of the 1922 season, Bradshaw had scored 119 points. He also held Baylor's all-time career-scoring record with 178 points. After graduating from Baylor, Bradshaw played professional football in the early days of the National Football League with the Rock Island Independents in 1924 and the Buffalo Rangers in 1926. He later coached football at Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth and Ouachita Baptist College in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Bradshaw was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in 1966.

Because this was LONG ago, most of the younger Baylor fans don't really know how great this man was as both a player , coach and man. THE BEST !

Great stuff....thanks.

As I have been told, Carroll Field was north of what we called Carroll Science Building. I think the field was about where the Student Union Building is now located.
