Future Dallas Texan and Houston Oiler QB Cotton Davidson playing for the Baylor Bears, 1952
Another interesting side note. Also Roy Orbison's high school history teacher at Odessa High. As well the producer of the 90s sitcom "Coach" was an Iowa grad and named the main character Hayden Fox as a tribute to Hayden Fry.Assassin said:
Haden Fry, Baylor QB. Fry played quarterback for the Bears from 1947-50 and was an assistant coach at Baylor in 1959-60. Fry went on to a long career as a head coach at SMU from 1962-72, North Texas from 1973-78, and Iowa from 1979-98. He compiled a record of 232-178-10.
Evidentally this was when you could just ride up on your horse and watch the game...or we were playing SMU.Assassin said:
Early Baylor football, I think this is early Carroll Field which was on campus
Because this was LONG ago, most of the younger Baylor fans don't really know how great this man was as both a player , coach and man. THE BEST !Assassin said:
