Sounds about right. Hard to believe he's been gone that long.whitetrash said:1992 John Hancock Bowl in El Paso. Note the mountains behind the stands (other than that, the Sun Bowl was a carbon copy of Floyd Casey). Teaff's final game.Assassin said:

We beat Arizona 20-15. I recall taking the afternoon off from my job to watch the game. Teaff went out a winner after also winning his final regular season game against UT at the Case.

Is that a Grant Teaff bobblehead the players are carrying? Pretty bad retouch for a cover photo. But then again, it was about 20 years before Photoshop!Assassin said:

What was that gel used for the flat top? Not brylcream but something else in a round jar.Johnny Bear said:Assassin said:

Ah, yes - the early 1960's "flat top" haircut. Remember it well.

Butch wax, for sure. I used it on the south side of Longview from about 1957 to 1964 when I walked into Dan Greenway's barber shop on South High Street and told him I had convinced my parents to let my hair grow out. Before 1957 (I was born in 1949) my Dad cut my hair with his razor. Dan's haircuts were $1 which I thought was high since I was making $1 an hour.Assassin said:Butch wax was what I remember. I think we paid a quarter for our cuts at Mr Bill's Barber Shop around 30th street or so. About the same time. Born in 54GruntTuff said:Butch wax, for sure.
