But, they are from the SEC...

Yes and has been established many times over the past decade, that do not mean as much as people think unless it's Bama, Georgia, or LSU. And that's no longer true for Bama & LSU.

They just got back from the retreat to get over PTSD of having to play in the SEC. It is that rough.

So, regardless of what happens, it is all about the greatness of the SEC.

Even though it's a fraud. Besides, why would any of those 3 teams have PTSD for having to play in the SEC? Georgia is the only truly greet team in the conference and they played lesser teams. Bama & LSU have been great in the recent past but not do much now. None of them should be traumatized by playing Vandy (except maybe Bama!), Mizzou, Arky, Aggies, Florida, Auburn, etc. Texas is too arrogant for PTSD, or at least too arrogant to admit it, but they played had a great season.

Well we are the lead in game to the 1st playoff game at the Fiesta Bowl so we should have more viewership than other bowls

Same. I've loved the way he's talked about this game. A seven-game win streak to end this season and springboard us into 2025 would be huge.

How exactly does a scrimmage springboard a program?

Who says the bowl game is a scrimmage? Or any of the six games that closed out the regular season? Even if some fans or pundits view it that way, the players & coaches certainly don't. They see it as an opportunity and are enthusiastic. We have a good chance to win mainly because our guys want it more. We also have momentum and a coach who knows a few things about the opponent.

First, any game that counts toward your record is, by definition, not a scrimmage, so that's a silly characterization off the bat of a bowl game. I think bowl games are generally a dumb way to end seasons, but they're not scrimmages.

Second, both winning and losing are contagious. The more you do of either, the easier it becomes in the future.

I would much rather go into 2025 off a win over an SEC team, having not lost a game since Oct. 5, 2024, than lose today and risk losing any of the momentum and confidence we've gained during this six-game winning streak.

If this team is riding a seven-game win streak into next season with most of its talent back and a handful of potential impact transfers joining the mix, Baylor will rightly be viewed nationally as a contender in 2025. If we lose to a middling LSU team today that's not even close to playing at full strength, some of the shine will leave the rose.

Program momentum is a real thing, and we've got a lot of it right now. I'd prefer not to see that interrupted by a bowl loss.

Guarantee you he will be on here crying hot tears if we lose. I think it's hilarious when people act like they don't care about the outcome of a game. It usually means that they care a whole lot, but they want to be tough guys about it for internet cred

It has now swung 5 points. It's gone from LSU -3 to BU -2. Glad I got in on BU early.

Baylor -3.5 now

The O/U has also inched up from 59.5 to 63.5

I'm sure it is a posting strategy to be able to come on here after a win, if it occurs, to downplay any progress made this year so it can fit whatever agenda the poster may have because as we know the most important thing here is look good as a poster, who gives a flip about the program.

Last I saw, Baylor is favored by 3. That is because LSU has a ton of players (over 20) who have opted out for NFL, transferred, or injured. So their bench players & backups will play. They are depleted with their top players, offense very depleted, especially OL, TE, WR, RB. Their top LT not playing since top 5 in NFL draft. 3 of 5 their OL's will not play. But their star QB is playing, he will be their difference-maker, he can throw mid to deep balls, he will test our secondary. Their defense is in better shape, not as many depleted, but 2 starting DL's and star LB out. Baylor has good chance of winning this game since most of our roster in tact--we are not underdogs. Read that LSU sold out their allotment in couple days, their fans usually travel well.

What's the problem? This is an SEC team that get's top money AND pays out top NIL. Reload. They have more 4 and 5 stars on the 2nd and 3rd team than BU has among its starters. Playing a lowly B12 team should not be a problem for a mastermind like Kelly.

This is the SEC talking point. It is foolproof. If you win…you beat Baylor with back ups. If you lose…well of course because you were playing with backups.

It's impossible to really beat an SEC team in bowl season outside of the CFP.

Fight On, CDA!
Even though I know a lot of BU fans on here wanted him fired as recently as last month, I knew he had it in him.

Sic 'Em, Bears. Beat the Tigers.

Feel good about this game largely because the Bears have had great momentum as they've ended the bowl season, but also because if a cruddy USC team can beat them, BU should have no problem.

I didn't think he had it in him, but I'm happy to be wrong.

I've always liked Dave Aranda the man and respected the program culture he's tried to build. I just lost faith in his ability to win football games. It feels good to have that faith back.

LSU had a bowl loss in Jan. 2022 when they were so depleted they played a wide receiver at QB. This year isn't like that. LSU is playing Nussmeier, and their team is intact enough that it will be a great win.

I'm one that wants to give the SEC its due and then compete with them. Baylor is a good team right now, and I welcome the opportunity to play anyone . . . the stronger the program, the better. I'm thrilled we got a big-name opponent and not a team like the Ragin Cajuns.

Hoping with how games are lined up today, playing an SEC tradition rich team, giving us Great National exposure that we don't screw the pooch. Nervous needless to say. Hoping we open up, out of character… instead of molasses start, penalties, lack luster energy, etc, lay the hammer down and not let up.

This will be a chance for Sawyer to get himself some national recognition if he balls out. He is so under the radar right now with most CFB fans.

Hopefully, LSU gets off the gas in the 2nd half so that the final score will look more palatable.

Let's see if they step up. They are getting a bit "chippy", maybe we get a Utah effort here now that they are used to the talent level.

The most frustrating part of that game is that it was winnable. If we showed up and played like the best version of ourselves, we get a W.
