Where does the fine money go? Maybe it's in the article... but I'm too lazy to look. I've often wondered where fine funds end up in a number of realms.

Apparently 50% of it goes to the NFLPA trust for retired players. That's the funny part - imagine screwing up at work and having to make a donation to your 401(k). The other 50% goes to charities

I found this:

The CBA says that 50% of all fines should go to the Players Assistance Trust, which is an NFLPA-run program to help retired players acclimate to life after football and provide supplemental health care benefits such as cognitive evaluations.

The other 50% is earmarked for "charitable organizations jointly determined by the NFL and the NFLPA." Currently, the NFL's official website lists the NFL Foundation as the preferred charity. The NFL Foundation is a non-profit with a stated mission to "support the health, safety and wellness of athletes, youth football, and the communities that support our game."

Players have paid about $4 million in fines per season since 2011, according to the league.

Regardless of where it goes, Dad can't be happy about having to come up off $100K because of something childish that his son did.

I can only imagine how that conversation went down.

I'm guessing the coach doesn't pay a dime, anyway. It will get covered or just sort of forgotten about. NFL had to pretend to make a statement.

Saw something today that Gabriel wants to wear #2 in Cleveland. Being the higher pick and projected backup he will probably get it.

I feel like the big fine was in part a reaction to placate the, "Sanders falling in the draft was a racist controversy" crowd. The NFL is very worried about race issues after the kneeling for the anthem thing, and they're not going to let anything get in the way of making money
Just keep in mind ... the fine is equal to the bail for a YMB who intentionally stabbed an unarmed student in Frisco, Texas. So basically, they're the same in the minds of the NFL. Kill a white kid = pranking a jackass.

Well yeah. In the eyes of the NFL, smoking weed is worse than beating your girlfriend like a punching bag on camera

Glad they did that.

However, I saw that there was another player, a lineman I think, that received 4 or 5 prank calls and it seems no one (NFL) is looking into that at all.
This is why people react negatively to Sanders.

The prank was ****ty but not worth a $250,000 fine ...
I'm failing to put 2 and 2 together here.

Sanders had nothing to do with the prank call and nothing to do with the fine, yet he is somehow at fault?

Skip is so damn annoying. I don't know how his career has lasted so long.

Same as Steven A, Shannon Sharpe and the rest of the TV sports hacks. Same as political crap. The serve no legitimate purpose other than to get people riled up and arguing over stupid hot takes.
You got it. I view it as trolling. I bet you they don't even believe half the stuff that comes out of their mouths. They do it to keep themselves employed.

Travis Hunter made a positive video with that Colorado State player that gave him a cheap shot and injured him.

Shadeur Sanders still has a beef with the...Texas Tech ballboy!

These 2 are not the same.

Kind of crazy he will be making about 1 million a year when some college QBs are reportedly getting 7 to 10 mil for just one year next year.

He'll probably get some pretty nice endorsement deals just because of his name.

I just don't see him having starting NFL QB talent. I think Hunter, Horn, Wester did a lot of the heavy lifting in his stats.

Weird that he's getting that workload as the starter in the game after being sidelined with arm soreness about a week ago.

Not sure why he would be starting unless it was purely for getting butts in the seats and eyeballs on the set. I watched a little bit earlier. Didn't see what looked like a future starter, or even a guy is assured a roster spot, but then it's only his first action in a preseason game. And rusty at that.

NFL is a different level. I'm not rooting against him, or for him. I'd like to see him be his own self, show maturity and class, being a great teammate. I imagine any of us might struggle a bit having come from the environment he grew up around. Now we may find out who he really is.

Funny I thought he was awesome in college considering is offensive line was always somewhere between medium and bad. Against Baylor he was running for his life and had like 300 plus yards. I think he might be a star but who knows until he faces live bullets.

Being able to put up yards on our defense last year is not a good indicator of future NFL success IMO

Deshaun Watson is still rehabbing, Dillon Gabriel and Pickett have hamstring injuries, and they didn't want to play Flacco. So that left Shedeur to start.

Not a ton of yards...but 2 TDs and no INTs is not a bad start

He did exactly what they wanted to see. Command the offense, make good reads, don't turn the ball over, and show poise in the pocket. He made a few wild throws but to be expected but he also made some great ones in small windows. I hope he gets an opportunity to play with the first team offense against the other teams first team defense.

I don't know dude. I'm not saying the same thing about Josh Hoover. But shadeur was impossible to tackle and fearless in the pocket and made all kinds of crazy throws. Under pressure. I came out of that game thinking he will be an nfl quarterback. Number one separator for nfl quarterbacks is making that same through when the killing machine is bearing down on you and shadeir seems to have that.

Poise and mastering your offensive system can make a good QB with lesser physical talent a great QB, and while he doesn't have a cannon for an arm, he is on time and on target more times than not. I'm sure the Colts would trade a 5th round Shedeur over the 4th pick overall in Anthony Richardson.

You're saying that the Colts would trade Anthony Richardson for Sanders right now? Na. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Sanders looked pretty good in this game. A game where he was playing against future practice squad players and guys that will be working regular 8 to 5 jobs in a few weeks. I would like to see how his style of play would work against legit NFL talent think Micah Parsons or Will Anderson Jr bearing down on you
