For 10 years I have defended some great Bear teams that played long ago. Some of these were great teams. I have been quick to take up for these teams as they have been used in a manner that was supposed to make me angry. It did not work. I have rallied to protect those teams and to bring up valid points that show there was very little difference in the average fan's admiration for all of these Baylor teams. Each era has their favorites and that is understandable.

This is exactly the problem that we have with you and your view on Briles. You feel like you have to defend those teams when we celebrate them too. Yeah, we hate the San Jose loss, but our disappointment is probably not near the heartache that you and other members of the team had.

The problem is that you see any success afterwards as tearing down those teams. You have made it clear you did not like Art because he didn't engage you as a past player in the way you thought he should. Due to that you feel like your success was overshadowed and you don't like it. This is why you try to tear him down. You blindly supported the board tearing down CAB because you didn't like him, instead of looking critically at the information out there.

BS! My "problem" with Art you mention above started at a BU golf outing where upon meeting him again for the first time in 32 years he clammed up and refused to acknowlwedge a small crime I witnessed him commit during my University of Houston recruiting visit. He became very distant when I told the story in front of a small group at the golf outing.. One other thing happened that December weekend in 1976 in Houston that caused me alarm. I refuse to go into details but that was the reason I stayed away and refused myself to "engage".

One other opportunity came up in Atlana when my son and I were there to watch the Baylor vs. Duke Elite 8 game. Not worth going into details but it was selfish and uncalled for. It got my attention but again I passed it off.

I did not seek any special treatment. I don't care about developing a relationship with coaches. As a matter of fact I shy away from getting to know coaches.

Our failure to engage never bothered me. What bothered me was piss poor defense, piss poor special teams and leading the nation in penalties. All signs of something going wrong.

I didn't try to tear Art down. He tore himself down. I could have told him how to survive the Baylor situation but his ego would not allow it.

I believe that Art left the Baylor BOR zero to very little room to work with. He created that sucking sound and it got him and pulled him under.

As one who helped build up a Baylor program I have a little bit different expectation than you or your Stepford Girls. I refuse to sit idly by nodding my head in agreement like a puppet that all is well and Art did nothing wrong. He tarred and feathered MY program I helped build!!!! Baylor was a stepping stone for him and he ground his heel into our faces.

Thee, one thing you and Art will always share, during your best season you both chocked to Spartans.

Face it, you'll never shake that, nor will he. Y'all are the same when it comes to choking.

As great as Coach Teaff was with what he accomplished given what he had, those 20 years of Baylor football only saw one 10 win team and 2 SWC titles.

In the 7 years that Coach Briles led the Bears, we had FOUR 10+ win seasons, 2 Big 12 titles, and a Heisman Trophy Winner.

That's not even in the same league, accomplishment wise. It was the best run in Baylor Football History.

You have to be kidding me!!!. It's laughable the non con schedules and how Baylor took advantage of it. Even my senior year in '80 BU scheduled up West Texas. However, it was because one of GT's coaching friends was the new head coach WTS. It was a favor.

Baylor also started playing 12 game seasons instead of 11 games in or around 2002.

Baylor Athletics was run out of a shoebox on a string budget in the 70's & 80's and even the 90's. Once we made the jump to the Big 12 the checkbook opened up a bit. There was no check book in GT's day. It was cash money or do without.

That's one way of looking at it. 1980 was a mid season non-conference choke job that was not telvised for the world to see. Only 35,000 showed up to watch.

The 2015 Cotton Bowl was the Big 12 Champs, in the hallowed Cotton Bowl in front of 71,000 in Daallas and millions around the world.

Not quite the same my Baylor Brother.

Okay, we get it... YOU'da Man!! By golly you're gonna show the generations of loyal, passionate (green-gold-yellow-black-anthracite) fans who support, travel, contribute $$$$$, share in the wins/defeats WHO to put on the top pedestal. HOWEVER, that crushing you absorbed in the matchup with SEC/'Bama in the Cotton Bowl proved that Baylor couldn't compete with, traditionally, the top of the SEC THEN or really now. I was extremely proud of the '80's team and season. That being said, NO WAY would that team ever be considered for the NC matchup or even be mentioned. The one thing that can't be disputed about Briles' team (#TCU- #6BU).. multiple weeks Baylor was in the public conversation (Media) regarding participation in the FFour. Of course, the committee found an out for BOTH... toads & BU. Hence, "Big12" little respect. My take and point on that fact was "if Baylor found it's way in, it would face 'Bama and have a quick exit out". At least I can go to the hereafter knowing THEN Baylor was at least in the consideration (NATIONAL Coverage) for the playoff. BRILES did that and the '80 team was nowhere close. You can "compare" times, investments, etc, etc, but to the fans at large that was a very high point in Baylor history. Briles did THAT and you'll just have to live with it.

You are going to the hereafter because a few sportswriters talked about it? I don't give a BBWC about what any fans think about the 1980 collapse in the Cotton Bowl to the MOST STORIED TEAM IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL. We didn't tee up an average team like MSU.

You are "participation trophy" where 10 or more teams get talked about as being worthy. That gives multiple false hope and keeps them on the hook which translates to $$$$ for everybody else.

I grew up and competed where only 1 team discussed as worthy and they did it by winning on the big stage.

National contenders don't get dawg-drilled by West Virginia (5th place B12) or the year before by Oklahoma State and have to hope and pray a team gets defeated so they can slip in the back door the final weekend of the season just to be conference champs and even then share the championship with TCU. I've seen the Toad trophy. It is exactly like Baylor's.

National contenders don't get the prize unless they have a Top 5 defense (not Top 35, Top 60 or Top 100), Discipline. Special Teams. Baylor was light years from #1 and it was proven in the Cotton Bowl.

I supported and yelled for MY Bears as loud as anyone during the Briles years. I loved the winning. The problem you ask? I'm still angry about a coach who wanted to jump ship and had the ladder pulled out from under him at a time when the lack of oversight and lack of discipline bit him dead in the keister. He soiled the Baylor reputation that I helped build. I had a bigger stake in this than the average Bear. Of course it was. They are always best when an injury rears it's head. Even if you failed to carry and prepare a couple of real QBs after letting your QB lower his head and run into defenses.

Of course it was. Even when your defense was ranked #78 out of 128 teams.

Thee, we just like winners. If Briles had been a loser, he would not be mentioned. Simple. You can say whatever, and that's ok, but what do you care? It might be fun football to watch Wherever Art coaches because his teams have always won, everywhere. There sure is no fun football in Waco.

Thee, we just like winners. If Briles had been a loser, he would not be mentioned. Simple. You can say whatever, and that's ok, but what do you care? It might be fun football to watch Wherever Art coaches because his teams have always won, everywhere. There sure is no fun football in Waco.

Lmao get a life, you obsessed fan girl.

Am I wrong? If you are going to post at least tell the truth.

Get the ENM Greyhound bulletin board up so you Circle Jerks can roll around on each other in a pit of Crisco.

Who needs to get a life? You boys live to stroke when a post pops us about your hero worship target that faded in most normal minds after he fired himself with piss poor management, lack of discipline and waiting for the call from a bigger and better program.

RightRev, perhaps you need to unglue your lips and look around. May 26, 2016! 3,475 days (9 years & 6+ months) have passed and you are still the lead self flagellator! Who needs to get a life? I'm just trying to help you boys break through the mental block you have dangerously enveloped your worlds with.

When one of your kind posts revisionist history, I get a call from the psych ward police and go into action correcting your mistruths and your nearly 10 years of flogging.

We'll see how obsessed I am when you boys are headed 450 or more miles packed inside a yellow dawg high school, school bus. Be sure and stop in Muleshoe and eat at Leal's to get those Greyhound game faces on.

Again, you use crude language and say nothing but taunts and generalizations. You have no sense of societal norms. You never respond to the letter that BU general counsel sent on his behalf, Patty Crawford and Dunnam saying that the football team was being scapegoated, or the court testimony when you make responses.

EVERYONE knows your mindset when it comes to CAB, Admin, and that time. Absolutely your right to do so. This country and world; however, have been blessed with many second chances for individuals. I truly think our fans aren't "fanboys and such" they simply liked him and enjoyed what he brought to Baylor, which we'll never see again. Reality is a hard pill sometimes. No one is obsessed, as a normal human being and for some, Christian, we just feel CAB deserves a second chance. Morality comes to mind. I, for one, am unsure if he'll reach complete success at ENM, but I'm rooting for him. Some individuals that would have gone thru what he did for TEN years may not be here today, naturally or unnaturally. Can't you simply give him a break/rest? You're not changing anyone's mind or feelings.

The ONE thing I'll argue with you over in a couple of posts of yours is the possible need for BU to enlarge McLane 10,000 seats. There WILL NEVER be a need for that. BU has and presently lost generations of fans. It would take years plus multiple successful seasons to acquire NEW fans who are immune to its history. MULTIPLE years, successfully, will be needed to bring BU back to mediocre now. Realignment will appear again and Baylor won't be lucky this time.

Remember, During Briles' years. the SEC played multiple cupcakes annually.
Remember, Art beat Oklahoma 3 out of 4 years,
And Art beat UT 4 out of 5 years, cupcakes or not.

BULL$H!T

Against UT Art went 4-4.

Against OU he went 3-5.

See you delusional boys are so eat up with coach worship that you continue to lie 9.5 years later. You guys are embarrassing!

As I posted previously, you have no social wherewithal. I wouldn't want to be associated with you and your childish crude phrases. I think everyone sees why Briles distanced himself from you. That talk might get laughs from the good old boys at the country club in Burnet. The rest of us see it differently.

I'm sure you see it differently. You talk like a Baylor Regent!

Have you ever stepped foot into George's? How about Pete's College inn? 2 Minnie's?

Burnet does not have a country club.

In one post you talk about me being the chief Briles fan, and now, you say I sound like a regent. Make up your mind. I have been to George's plenty of times, Pete's was gone when I came to Waco, and read my username to see why I don't go to 2 Minnie's.

Eh, 2010-2014 we did technically beat UT 4 out of 5 times, and 2011-2014 OU 3 out of 4. Not a lie, just selective dates,, just like you chose to look at the total H/H during Briles' tenure
