Could this be the start of dismantling a "P4" program by LL and the Bible Thumping BOR from wasting Mil$$$ of dollars on athletics versus the "Bubble Needs" of a Mega Baptist Church... SING, Steeples, and Self-Gratifying ego driven idiosyncrasy of a select, few individuals? Shrink the A department down to almost intramural level.
The fact of BU's money issues, decisions made regarding the immediate future, slow moving of Portal activity, and (paraphrasing a recent quote from Drayton McLane) "You have to know your check book, stay within its limits and know it doesn't match other folks". Am I being unrealistic or completely wrong?

Please step away from the cliff. We are not going to dismantle a P4 program. Every school has a bunch of players in the portal and many have money problems bigger than ours.

I am not surprised by anything that has happened so far. When we elected to keep CDA for another year, this was always going to be the result. Players may like him, but they have agents who are hired to maximize their earning potential who are likely telling them to move to a program that is going somewhere.

The very kindest thing you can say about our football program is that it is unstable.

There is absolutely no agent who believes that Aranda will be here after the 2026 season. There is no BMD who believes Aranda will be hear after 2026.

From what Grayson stated DJ Lagway wants to come to Baylor because it's Baylor.

I believe this is the of player we can effectively get. This offseason we can get guys who want to come to Baylor for Baylor. We can offer PT for a player trying to get his career started with a change of scenery. Otherwise we are very limited currently with the commitment to Aranda.

After we decide what to do with CDA we can move forward as a program. If he stays fine, if he is fired fine, but right now we are stuck in neutral.

We are in for a very rough year, then we can see where we are.

This why I'm kind of shocked we were able to get the DC from KSU to come here. He's got a decent resume...I can't imagine why he'd want to get onboard this sinking ship for a year.

If we lose players to the elite programs I know that's just how it works now...but if we are losing players to programs that are more equivalent to ours that stings a bit.

I see Houston is adding some nice pieces. So... this means that now Houston, SMU, TCU, Tech, along with A&M and UT all have better football programs than us. I am not sure we could even beat Texas State, UTSA or UNT if they were on our schedule next year.

Do the schools pay for them to fly out or is that on their own dime?

I'm sure the school does it. But these guys are all millionaires or close to it. They can afford a flight to try to get a pay raise.

Nah.. I was speaking more of the scenario where the offense is miserable at the start of the season but the defense balls out and plays great and shows major improvements yet Dave is fired mid season.

Klanderman takes over and leads us to a winning season.

I don't know a lick about him but I bet he looks like a yeller and screamer and total opposite of Aranda on the sidelines. In my scenario above it would be an easy decision because of the contrast.

That would be the cost effective way.. or The Baylor Way .
