Honestly we need to try and buy out of the Auburn game.

What's the difference between 8 and 9 losses? Keep the buyout money and take the L.

It's not going to be pretty. Will be on national TV. It will set the mood or trajectory for the entire season for both the team and fan base. SMU just did it so we should be able to do it as well. Cite portal losses as the reason.

Maybe a good embarrassing ass kicking on national TV will help get the attention of upper administration

If our roster is going to be gutted either way, why not just hire someone else this coming season?

Why say "we are keeping Aranda for roster stability?"

I completely agree at this point. Jeff Traylor come on down. Would have liked to have Morris but he is a program builder, community rally type. Started doing it at HS and now college. Gets his roster picked apart each year but continuously rebuilds. Knows how to do less with more. Knows the lay of the land in Texas. Reenergizes the fan base and donors.

Traylor, him again? No way. His stock has crashed. A few years ago, I would have supported hiring Traylor. Not now. Besides, would we really want a hothead who tries to start a fight with Army of all teams after throwing an adult temper tantrum? This is the guy you want?

That's gonna be a no from me, dawg.

As painful as this is, I agree with her thought process. If Dave turns into the new Cingetti over the summer, we all win. If he is still Dave, we fire him and start clean.

Yeah, I'm 100% confident that isn't going to happen. After six years, we know what we have and there's no reason to believe that Aranda is going to magically change.

I am confident that we know what we know what we have. I am also confident that we have a new coach for the 2027 season.

I imagine we will see this type of sentiment continue to grow in the donor base.

Something obviously is gonna have to change… it's just going to be a matter of how long we are in this strange middle ground.

I think you'll just see a big difference between schools that have boosters that feel this was and the ones like Tech who don't care and will buy everyone.

Noooo evidence for that, babeeyyy, just maaade it up.

At some point there will not be enough fools with enough money to continue to fund a zero ROI game like NIL. Hell, you can't even write it off in most cases.

I'm just not sure how sustainable this present system is

I don't think it is sustainable. I think the lower FBS schools will start dropping out like dominoes if college sports doesn't get off this path.

I always thought this was supposed to be about the athletes getting a share of the revenue that was already out there and being generated...and not this whole outside funding by donors it's turned into.

the biggest driver of the insanity are the agents. The big name experienced guys have always taken their skins by playing the hardest of ball, and the thousands of bush league agents out there are often just reckless fools pretending to know what they're doing.

They seem blissfully unaware that they're strangling the golden goose.

It is 100% it is not sustainable. Was 2025 peak NIL, will 2026 be peak NIL across all Universities combined? I have no idea but we are starting to see some donors publically back away like this Colorado donor and Troy Aikman .

Similar to UNT and Ok St....although I'm not sure an ISU heavy roster is ready to compete for Titles in the B1G

Remember when we said we couldn't fire Aranda because players would leave with him.

Jokes on us. They left anyways

Coming from the premium board, no one is saying so there's a chance. The premium board is ready to run everyone associated with Baylor Football out the door.

No, I'm saying that is only the very few that still think there's a chance Aranda might be able to turn it around. Most are ready to burn it all down, as you say.

I think it's possibly Baylor could win 6 or 7 games and Aranda keep his job. I would bet the under at this point. And probably not very many fans would be thrilled.

But it's up to the AD, and he doesn't have much of a track record to go from.

We pretty much know what the fans want. But we're the better part of a year away from having enough perspective to make a definite call.

There are two games that Baylor SHOULD win (knock on wood), and that's even a bit iffy with La Tech.

Getting four more will be a difficult task, to say the least.

It would take Klanderman being an absolute revelation running the defensive side, if Aranda truly gives him total control. And Spav has to work some real magic with a complete overhaul.

Again, I'm betting the under.

Where do you suppose those wins are coming from? It'll be an upset for the ages if we can even reach four wins next season. Three wins is the likely ceiling.

It makes you wonder if there is some sort of "bad actor" hanger on that is a contact with agents. It's that bad. We are down to 4-5 starters returning. There are three more on defense that I am sure can fetch good money. A 6-3 CB and two young athletic LBs. This is insanity.

They are all in contact with agents. This is happening nationally, Baylor is not immune. It turns out if your program sucks, you're less likely to retain kids who can get more money elsewhere.

To clarify what that is about the starting QB at UW entered the portal tonight with a no contact tag. Seems to indicate he knows where is headed and has been tampered with. He signed a new deal with Washington 4 days ago.

To me it seems the new school has to buy him out of that contract. That would be the solution.

I'm not predicting those wins. I'm just saying IF they somehow got 6 or 7 the AD possibly MIGHT not fire Aranda.

I don't think they get 6. Five would probably be a near miracle, but at least two of them should be do-able to start with.

They should have re-set before the last bye week, in my opinion. But that ship has sailed.
