I hope CAB has a good season and the same goes for Baylor. I've always followed multiple teams so adding CAB's new team to the list is not an issue for me. If others prefer to follow only one team that's fine.

Art built his Baylor nest and he blew it out both pants legs. Never was a Baylor coach been given so much to work with. Ever.

The only people in my mind that might be just a little bit more to blame are Ken Starr and Ian McCaw. Both of them were drunk on W's no matter the "cost" and both were relatively spineless "YES" men. Which is the same description for most of you ENM Greyhound boys feverishly have earned going on 10 years now. Talk about (BDS) Briles Derangement Syndrome. Good grief.

Art built the nest. Wandering through the Big 12 desert created by Roberts, Steele & Morriss Baylor needed a disciplined Art Briles, a real, class A defensive coordinator. 11 Big 12 wins in 12 years will create fans thirsting for a juicy bone.

Had Art kept his program clean and been content with Baylor/Waco he could have had it all. National Champs.

Baylor's history hasn't been good for more years than most on this board are old, including some of the "older" ones. Baylor just finds ways to counter success.
My best analogy is… you have a contractor and crew pour and finish a fresh patio which isn't dry when they leave and the family dog walks through it leaving huge prints that is not noticed until the next morning after it dried.

What was your eras identity? Nine losing seasons? A mere 4 bowl wins in 21 years? One comeback win against Texas? Golly, might as well build Dave Aranda a statue because he had a good comeback against UCF in 2023.

And who cares if we had a bad defense, we sure as hell were winning more games under him than Teaff. He also produced our best player of all-time, RG3. Ultimately, no one cares how you win games as long as you're winning, but it just so happens that everyone preferred Art's style.

Why does TCU have a Big 12 Championship trophy too? Where is the Heisman trophy winner today? The National #1 receiver? Those were some of the worst UT and OU teams in years.

6 TOs against Bama, or whatever it was, sounds like a collapse too. But no one is defining Teaff by a single game. It's absurd to define Briles by the 4th quarter of a single game.

Whether or not Briles instilled the most discipline is not the issue anyone here is talking about. We may not have won a national championship in the brief time he was here, but we dominated most of our conference opponents. I can't remember another era of Baylor football that came anywhere close to that.
