Athlon Sports: Brewer set for breakout season | Mims a top 10 WR nationally | Rhule ranked against national coaches

After last season, picking Baylor on the right end of an upset is good news for Baylor fans. Saying Baylor will have a shot at multiple upsets might just bring tears to eyes of Green and Gold faithful.

That's exactly what Athlon Sports did in their latest piece previewing the Big 12 Conference. According to Allen Kenney, the Bears will pull off an big upset against their biggest rival in Waco.

Baylor over TCU (Nov. 17)

Baylor will knock off somebody this year -- maybe a couple, in fact. The Bears played hard for head coach Matt Rhule last season, his first in Waco. They’re catching the Horned Frogs on the back end of consecutive road games late in the year, and an upset here could signal the renewal of one of the Big 12’s gnarliest rivalries.

The upset would be massive considering the outcomes of the contests in 2016 and 2017. Though 2017 was less than a touchdown lead for TCU going into final moments of the third quarter, the Horned Frogs have disposed of the Bears by a combined score of 107-44 the last two seasons.

The good news is that the Bears are in the second rebuilding season behind Matt Rhule while TCU is looking to replace nearly their entire offense from a season ago.

ESPN's FPI predictor also calls the game a tossup with TCU having an extremely small edge in Waco.

Would be nice. If it happens, BU will have earned it, because Patterson never fails to have his team ready to play the Bears, no matter where the game is played.

A win over TCU would be pure ecstasy

The most valuable win of the season, in my book, and always will be. Have had this disdain for them for over 30 years, and it's unlikely to change anytime soon. Sure would be nice if this is our 7th (or so) of the season by that point in time...

Makes for exciting reading for Bear fans. The game starts and then reality sets in.

The Fancy Frog boys that lurk over here are going to love this little nugget; they'll snatch it up, take it back to killerfrogs and have a vigorous fudge packing contest as they drool over it.

We will never sneak up on the Frogs. Auburn never sneaks up on Alabama. Florida never sneaks up on Georgia.

I think we get it done in Austin. longhorn is coming off consecutive weeks: USC, TCU, @ KState, and OU. Surely, they'll be tired and think they have yet another snoozer against the baby bears from Waco.

I'm predicting Baylor beats ACU. Don't flame, but I have a good feeling about this.

Kind of a fantasy but a good one. I hate those posers.

I have a dream that one day bears and toads will play football together, and the game will be as if the live mascots of both teams were actually in those uniforms. RIP, toads.

No we didn't, we were the better team. We both showed up to play and played hard we just had a Heisman QB, Kendal Wright, Terrance Williams, etc. It wasn't aggy in 2004 or something.

Oh god, I had to check it out. That website is pure schadenfreude and hatred.

They're completely obsessed with us. Talking about the scandal more than we do.

Imagine us having a 1700+ page thread dedicated to TCU?! How embarrassing.
They might as well say "Baylor lives in our head rent free".

Tcu came in heavily favored, the previous year they won the Rose Bowl, finished ranked in the top 10, and had beaten us 45-10. Baylor on the other hand was coming off a mediocre 7 win season (which followed 14 straight losing seasons), RG3 had not won the Heisman yet, the offense was very good but the defense was pretty mediocre. The talk leading up to the game was how Tcu would easily beat us again, how the BU offense would be limited by Patterson's defense, etc. Baylor was not the better team going in to that game, not by a long shot.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Everyone but Baylor fans thought it was going to be another slaughter and they would easily contain RGIII like they did in 2010. Little did they know RGIII was on another level that season and it started with them. We defiantly took them by surprise and they were not a bad team either, going 11-2 and ranked 14th in the final AP Poll.

That's one thing that is great about sports. Perception is not necessarily reality. You have to win the game.
