Oakman had a good lawyer. He would have won SamU's case.

And you and I finally agree on something!!

Awesome
Sam had different judge (several unusual rulings & still in appeal), different accuser, different time.

Sam got deferred on a rape case. That's pretty good representation

How does Oakman's post graduation mess help Art?

Perhaps we should add this to Art's win loss record.

For the same reason a sitting President's dalliances ten years ago with porn stars and Playboy bunnies are important. It fits a narrative.

It has to do with the hit job on Baylor Football. It has to do with the narrative established and embellished by the corrupt and self-serving leadership at Baylor. I swear, someone could start a thread about cantaloupes and you would make it all about Briles.

OWNED

Even you can't be this obtuse. (Big word..look it up). If Oakman was found guilty..it would have been plastered as another example of Art gone wild.

He is an innocent man. Therefore it's not used falsely against Briles any longer. At the end of the day. Just 1 conviction against a player under Briles. I can find +50 other programs with that or more.

It was a bad Bad day for those like you wanting someone to be guilty...just to fit their narrative.

Yes. Before, during, and after. You are in denial if you don't think so.

This disease is a whole lot worse than a fired Head Football Coach. Not sure Baylor will find a cure anytime soon. The patients are running the asylum.

Outside the bubble, Oakman's not guilty was next to the NFL Crime section in media.
How does that help Art? Not one word of the story said "Art Briles" in it.

Soft hands, the public had enough 3 years ago. You desperados didn't bother even to help Oakman. People like Franko and Gunny helped the guy. No Art Briles. Franko, Gunny, Bennett and especially Shawn should be proclaiming victory.

The delay wiped Oakman out (for now, he ll get a chance).

Six degrees of separation between Briles and cantaloupes:

1. Cantaloupes come from Pecos.
2. I have an uncle who was principal at Pecos HS in the early 1970s.
3. My uncle is originally from and is retired in Stamford.
4. Stamford is 15 miles from Rule, and home of the Cliff House restaurant.
5. Briles is from Rule, and had his first date with his wife at the Cliff House.

One degree to spare.

PS: you could probably also get there via Corpsturds having a tradition of various intimate relations with a cantaloupe, Rick Perry being a Corpsturd, and Perry being from Paint Creek, which is between Stamford and Rule.

C'mon Tell me. Nothing will ever satisfy you. If Art had gotten involved, you would have criticized him for not lying low and keeping his mouth shut. Now that he didn't get involved in someone else's legal proceeding, you criticize him for that.

Here's a question I would like to ask Brenda:

Assume you had a 20 year old son who was accused of rape. After 3 years in which his name becomes the functional equivalent of sexual predator regionally and to some extent nationally because he is an athlete, his day in court finally arrives.

He is unanimously acquitted by a jury containing 8 females...after turning down a plea bargain.

Despite this acquittal a semi famous woman making her living off of sexual assault issues goes on a tweet storm basically saying his acquittal is meaningless.

Brenda...how would you react to that?? Agree with the woman? Defend your son? Stay silent? Continue to preach that all accused are guilty?

Jury only deliberated for 2 hours? What a joke. They clearly didn't even have to think on this one. How can anyone say that the jury got it wrong??? Delusional. The guy deserves more credit than that and should be able to move on with his life with people giving him credit as a non-offender.

Remind me again of how many convictions from the Baylor scandal? One is all I count. And weren't there over 30 rape allegations and several gang rapes? One conviction? And Briles covered it all up and he's in jail, right? I'm late to the party so help me catch up.
52 allegations, 30 players, 8 gang rapes.

And he turned down a deferred adjudication plea deal on a rape charge. That takes guts.

Agree, but I suggest one edit before sending it to her. I would change the 3rd paragraph to read "Despite this acquittal a semi famous woman making her living off of the exploitation of sexual assault issues goes on a tweet storm basically saying his acquittal is meaningless".

I don't do Twitter or know how to send this question out but if those who do want to, feel free to send it along.

It seems like in his case it was guilty as soon as charged and then still guilty even after acquittal.
