His acquittal is momentous in a certain way. It's a strike back at the SJWs dogmatic attitude toward Baylor. It's a "pipe down" rebuttal.

My problem from the beginning with all of this is the conflation of separate and entirely unequal events, some of that coming from our own leadership. Domestic violence isn't rape. Doing drugs, drinking alcohol and acting inappropriately isn't rape. It's lazy (this word is a perfect description for sports opinions, btw) to combine these and use that product as a narrative. NO. Every incident is its own. And you have to painstakingly go case by case. Laxity towards minor issues doesn't cause rape; that idea is ludicrous and should be dismissed immediately. Rapists cause rape. And the only way to achieve any possible vindication in that scenario is to go to the police, not some college football coach.

I was a teammate of EJ Junior, the All-American linebacker for the Tide. He told me that he had never seen a player as battered and bruised as Major Ogilvie after that game. He said the Alabama trainers had ice bags taped all over him and that he could barely walk for several days. He ripped us for 74 yards on 15 carries.

Don't take my word for it though. This was from a Dave Campbell article back in 2014.

Interestingly, Alabama's two most heralded players, Ogilvie and All-America defensive end E.J. Junior, described the Bears as perhaps the best team the Crimson Tide played this season.

"Baylor is the best team we played, including Notre Dame," said Junior, who was in on 10 tackles and also recovered a fumble. "Baylor didn't quit, they kept coming at us. Don't look at the sore. We had 10 or 11 days to prepare and we just wanted it more."

Ogilvie said we was surprised "that our defense shut them down like that, but I know our coach had some good schemes. Baylor is one of the best teams we played this year, if not the best. Physically, they were the toughest."

I mean, pictures came out. She filed a police report. She didn't file charges. She could have gone to anyone at the school other than football coaches. Let's not act like it was some massive cover up. The biggest thing is she didn't file charges. If women want justice, FILE CHARGES.

This kind of stuff happens at every school when charges aren't filed.

In the end, this all a commentary about what the responsibilities are, or should be, of someone who works at a university and has to deal with a report of a possible crime. Should they be accountable? OR (WILD IDEA HERE) should these students - all of them - be treated like adults and not children?

There is this new group called LAW ENFORCEMENT. They have this crazy job where they investigate matters of illegality! And if you, as a victim, need help...THAT'S WHAT THEY DO!

HEY ! I'm the one clarifying that the other incident was not rape.

I don't think it is your intent, but you come across as dismissive of violence.

Does not really matter if you or I agree on reporting requirements under Title IX - they exist. One Baylor student made a claim of violence against another Baylor student and it should have been reported by athletics, who knew all about it, to Judicial Affairs.

Once the player's star fades and schools have exploited these guys for money, it's next man up.
