No.

The only time I have ever seen the Klan was on Valley Mills Drive back around 1990 before a Baylor football game.

30 years later I keep hearing how they are causing all of the looting and riots and killing of black folks but all I've seen is the most racist group ever, BLM.

BLM = give us some money or we will call you a racist.

I have to assume you are a racist BLM'er.
Baylor framed Baylor Football for the world that said there was a black Baylor Football player hiding behind every tree on Baylor's campus that was ready to jump out and rape a white coed. Baylor threw all of Baylor Football to the media wolves. It was sad and shameful. It was HORRIBLE!!! It was wrong. I blame the Holy Rollers the most. This includes Jeffrey, Murff, Wiles, and Reeter. What a bunch of frickin' religious zealots. My only tie to Baylor that remains is this message board. I sleep better at night.

Racist Baylor. Racist BOR. Racist Dr. Peppers. Racist Bear Mascot. Racist white privileged Baylor.

Nothing new in the article yet the apologists, 1600+ days since Art fired himself, get all lathered up in a patented Baylor Orgy Fest. You guys are like a bunch of old hogs rolling around in the slop.

You obviously don't know anything about Outkick/Clay Travis/ Jayson Whitlock. Whitlock (a black former college player) has been as outspoken a critic of BLM as there is and has been featured on Mark Levin's show and on Tucker Carlson's show. These guys don't throw "racism" around lightly.

It isnt about Briles it is about corruption in Baylor's BOR or at least the BOR at that time.

Agreed, they didn't have to try to perpetuate a false narrative and destroy Art. All they had to do was say we're paying him his money and wishing him well, but we just need to turn the page. Their actions in destroying the lives of Art and his coaching staff were inexcusable.

The woke crowd hates Outkick. Outkick has been outspoken critics of BLM and also the panic inducing media coverage of COVID. Although they don't get overtly into politics, they are pro civil liberty, and I bet, Thee, that you would affirm much of what they report.

I guess I'm not surprised that anything they write gets suppressed by big tech.

Still on the Board: Mark Roundtree, Jennifer Elrod, Shelly Giglio, Cary Gray, Larry Heard, Dan Hord III, Neal Jeffrey, Mark Lovvorn, Julie Turner and Dennis Wiles were all on the BOR.

Mark Hurd's widow Paula is now on the BOR,

Being Mark Hurd's widow speaks volumes about qualifications.

BS! I've read Whitlock's articles before and liked them.

The guilting of America is a very real ploy and this is the perfect time to drag that completely decimated old horse out of the grave and beat it some more. Travis is beating bones!

Nothing new here but it sure pumps up the apologist's conspiracy theories during a perfect storm of a disastrous college football season due to Covid and during the race hustler's dream season.

Clay Travis and Outkick are all-in SEC and have been since the day it was started by Clay. He rarely gives anyone outside the SEC the time day, other than an occasional reach to Michigan and Ohio St. Why is he suddenly interested in Baylor and Art Briles from 4 years ago other than he recently hired Jason King?

He is interested, as are many others, because there has never been a bigger complete sh*t show than that of the Baylor BOR in the history of college football.

I talk to plenty of Texas people and they've said for years they don't care about Art's baggage. Say they'll spin some "forgiveness and second chance storyline" and make it work. Students were too young to know what allegedly happened in Waco anyway and the old guard wants wins. Yada, yada, yada....
I am not doubting you, just your circle of UT friends. I'd wager 85% of today's fans in Austin want nothing to do with Art.

85% of today's fans in Austin won't be selecting the new coach...the BMDs and Del Conte will be. Besides, winning cures all ills.
Don't forget.....................you have to have a throne at the table for the Black Lives Matter royalty. This would include UT agreeing to ditching the Eyes of Texas, donating 0.5% of the department's annual earnings to the Black Lives Matter movement and black organizations, establishing a permanent black athletic history exhibit in the Athletics Hall of Fame and renaming parts of the football stadium after Julius Whittier, the first black football letterman at UT-Austin.

Also, they will want UT officials to rename campus buildings named after Texans who were proponents of segregation or held other racist views, remove a statue of prominent segregationist James Hogg.

1. I'm pretty sure BLM is a chaptered org, I don't know if there's a single "Black Lives Matter" because from what I've seen in south texas is that it's by city.
2.'aint the Athletics Hall of Fame already pretty much black athletic history? Considering outside of maybe Colt all their best players were black.

I'm mixed. This whole thing about "cancelling" (which usually refers to someone's social media following leaving) someone for not respecting Title IX is not a good look, this article looks very conspiratorial. Very few rape accusations are false and articles like this are why people don't believe victims, who already feel victimized by the world.
I really doubt that a university's board would do this, since if anything they would want to protect their winningest coach considering how much money football makes schools.

I think it was more using football as a shield to cover their own short comings in regard to sexual assault on campus. That's the reason they would clip the money train to cover their a$$es,

We really need another forum to house threads like these. These threads are not about Baylor football. These types of threads are more about campus politics and personal beliefs.

I think we can all agree, by now, that no one is going to change their minds on this issue no matter what "evidence" is presented.

If people want to talk about these issues, more power to them. However, can we please quit trying to pretend these conversations have anything to do with Baylor football?

They discuss why and how we ran off the coach who racked up the only Big 12 titles in our history, so it's fairly understandable our football fans would want to discuss it. They tend to congregate on the football board. If you don't like them, don't read them.

Unfortunately, the reason why he did this still occurred. He was trying to protect Baylor from having its board taken over by fundamentalists in the SBC. They had done this at several institutions, and Baylor would have been the cherry on the top. Their crowning achievement.

If you look at the board now the majority of the board is made of members who belong to churches that support the now entrenched fundamentalist regime.

You are correct. During that time though, the fundamentalists were trying to take over boards of higher institutions. These included the SBC seminaries and many of the colleges and universities affiliated with state Baptist conventions. Texas was a battleground state during much of this takeover. The regents feared that this would include Baylor. Reynolds actions were done to try to prevent the fundamentalists who were active in affiliated state conventions, like the BGCT, as well as the national SBC from loading the board with fundamentalist regents.

Fast-forward to the present and look at the churches that many of our regents attend. Many of them are members of SBC churches who sided and actively worked towards the SBC being taken over by the fundamentalists.

Prestonwood Baptist Church, First Baptist Dallas, and Second Baptist Church Houston are great examples of this argument. This is why I said that it is sad is because the very thing that they were trying to prevent has come to fruition.

The SBC is accountable to Baptist Churches and has more transparency therefore, had the SBC taken control of Baylor, I doubt we would have had the problems we've had with the secret, clandestine, deceptive, unaccountable organization known as the BOR.

Really, Ron Murff's wife was the secretary to the pastor of Prestonwood. The same man was Neal Jeffery's boss. That pastor is a former president of the SBC.

Prestonwood and Jack Graham are the epitome of cover up, deflect, deceive, and avoid accountability when there are problems. Google John Langworthy and Prestonwood if you want to see how they covered up sexual crimes in a way that allowed others to be victimized. Instead of blaming it on the football team, they demonized members who questioned it.

Baylor regents said that when Mr. Briles was asked what he would have done differently, he broke down and wept. Many board members began to cry as well.

"He couldn't speak he was so upset, and all of us were," Mr. Gray said. "Art said, 'I delegated down, and I know I shouldn't have. And I had a system where I was the last to know, and I should have been the first to know.'"
Mr. Cannon said Mr. Briles quoted Scripture and expressed his regrets over the painful situation Baylor was in, but didn't admit to wrongdoing.
