Purdue looks pretty shaken. FDU claws and scratches for any chance at a rebound. Shooting is cold for both teams, the final 60 seconds gonna take 30 minutes.

I mean, how unbelievable can the FDU story be? The only way they got in the tournament is because the actual winner, Merrimack, is still transitioning to D1 and hasn't met all the waiting period. So they are the replacement. Otherwise, the FDU guys would probably be shooting pool in the school rec room tonight watching the tournament.
Thing that worries me most is that Flo's biggest issue is that he typically fouls late in the shot around the rim, and Kalkbrenner is one of the better guys I saw this year at finishing when he's fouled late in the shot. I fear several 3 point plays. But I'm guessing Josh O is also gonna see more time than usual, and we're gonna need him to step up a level too.bear2be2 said:Kalkbrenner is more skilled than athletic/explosive. That one has always stung. If he had developed as anticipated, we would be able to go Flo/Jon/Josh O/Loveday with big rotations or even 2 bigs (C/PF) in a game like this. I'll always wonder whether Zach just never had the desire to develop or just didn't have the talent. Unfortunately, I have to default to the former instead of the latter because I look at what Drew and staff did with kids like Freddie Gillespie, TJ Maston and a host of others.
It felt exactly like St. Peter's win over Kentucky last year to me. Very similar situations and games (in intensity, not style).gobears20 said:
