Yep. Hell of a second half and comeback win. This team is good, and we're starting to put things together at the perfect time.

We just need to eliminate these first-half lulls and come out of the gate with the intensity we play with out of halftime.

I agree, but boy, they never get flustered. The only game all year that they had no answer for was Michigan State.
That's why I wasn't panicking at halftime. This team always makes a run.

If we're within 10 or 12 at half, I always feel like we have a chance. We came back from down 16 to Houston.

This team is nothing if not resilient.

You were right. They ended up coming back. I'll be honest, I don't like playing UT and I still don't like the matchup. At all.

It also didn't hurt that they started calling fouls in the second half.

Things turned when Disu went out and we went to zone.

UT was so hot from outside I didn't think zone would work. Maybe it just messed with the flow UT had going.

I think what frustrates me the most about the Bears is they've shown they can play at least decent D when they want too.
They play these stretches where they're locked in defensively. If they could only maintain that to at least some degree than wow!

It's obvious they started running a 2nd guy at Abmus after a while, but exactly what Drew did to implement this I'm not sure. Whatever it was, UT didn't respond well to it. Maybe it was something as simple as helping a lot off a guy who they knew wasn't going to beat them.

Still work to do, but a 2 seed is still there for the taking.

There's gotta be more to what Drew did in the 2nd half. We did send an extra man toward Abmus. I saw that multiple times. I didn't watch enough of the first half to know what we did with him in the first. Guessing we weren't collapsing on him with a 2nd man though.

At halftime, all I could think of was watching BYU come from 16 down at half to 16 up on TCU and thinking we could do the same.

And we did. 21-2 run from down 68-57 to up 78-70.

In a previous post I referred to one and done tournament basketball. Forgot about Texas Tech. My bad. Got to engrossed in tonight's game. Isn't there a bible verse about forgetfulness being a gift?

I like it much better without a healthy Disu. With Disu, they have the high post they need to destroy our zone or run the pick-and-roll/pick-and-pop game effectively against our man. Without him, they need Mitchell and Shedrick to be something neither has been very often for them.

When Disu went out, they lost their best and only post passer. It made attacking the zone much more difficult.

UT is better than Baylor. They could play us 5 times and they will win them all. We might win once. We cannot defend them. The fact we have closed it to 7 is, to me, fool's gold. That said, Baylor is a good team. But not against Texas. UT may also be the best team in the Big 12 right now.

Well tonight was the once. As for the other 4, guess we'll never know. Best team in the Big 12? I'd quit sawing that limb.

Either you are a troll or you have been smoking something strange! Texas is what their record shows them to be: a good, middle if the pack Big 12 team. No more. Baylor is a much better team despite making too many mistakes tonight. We beat them resoundingly & almost beat them in Austin.

Glad Baylor won. I'm by no means a troll. But I say we were very fortunate to beat this team. We had to shoot 70 percent from three to get it done. So there are reasons I said UT was better than Baylor.

I don't want us to play UT again this season.

Isn't it lovely when people go through an entire thread to look for someone who posted something that turned out to be incorrect. Do you have nothing else to do with your time?

I will reiterate. I think UT is a very tough matchup. Yes, I was wrong about this game and thankfully so.

Baylor had to shoot 70 percent from 3 point land to get this win.

So, no I don't want to play this team.

And I still say that this team is better than their record indicates.

If you don't like it, I really don't care. But I can tell you that I'm not going to be trolling this thread tomorrow for a response from you.

So, in this instance I was wrong. And I'm glad I was.

But if you look underneath the hood a bit, there are concerns about this win that, to me, are more concerning than the victory over KU.

KU was a solid win. No complaints.

This game I think we were fortunate to win.

We split the season series with UT. 1-1.

Shooting 70 percent from 3 is not a recipe for future success against this team. Also they suffered a key injury mid 2nd half.

So, yeesh your face.

Well....we also had 13 turnovers to their 5.... so it's not like we played a perfect game to beat them

True, I'll give you that. I just don't like playing a team that can absolutely blow you up on defense the way UT did.

I was much more comfortable playing KU, strangely enough.

But I also don't like coaches who sit there and whine. CSD doesn't do that. Well, he doesn't do it much.

I found it in a quote from someone else. Sorry about my abundance of emotion postgame.

Despite the struggles vs Texas I still think Baylor has a very good team with much potential in the next few weeks.
