Why no more "Official" game threads? To me it's one of the most interesting things on the website

Vj and Omier are just shaking their head at this scrub squad.. and I'm sure that frustration isn't just on the players. Need to win against every mediocre team and then somehow steal one at home.

I'm going to beat this drum to the point of redundancy, but Omier finishing fourth on our team in field goal attempts tonight -- behind Jeremy Roach -- is coaching malpractice.

Barring injury or foul trouble, neither of which were factors tonight, there is no excuse whatsoever for that to happen.

If we can win the next four, what happens that last one against Houston likely doesn't matter.

But that's a lot to ask with three of those games coming on the road.

It's just ridiculous… it's like Drew's adopted this guard oriented strategy where our guards must take the majority of the shoots no matter how bad they are.

What's more concerning is we were pitched these changes came with the staff shakeup this year.

Drew didn't forget how to coach. I think it's hard for us to rely on really 5 and sometimes 4 players for scoring the whole game. we know on most nights roach and nunn will give us combined like 8 and celestine is hit or miss. we need more depth next year. and either play straight up man or zone just not the switch everything or 1-3-1

32 needs to be sent packing. He gets zero rebounds, plays no D, shoott 20%, and loafs up and down the court. Whoever recruited him needs to go too

Need a harder guy to push our soft squad. Doesn't work when all the staff is positive encouraging guys. Need some balance and need a teacher

I don't think anyone is saying Drew forgot how to coach. However, he's doing himself no favors by how he's choosing to build his rosters. Drew deserves criticism for that. He's the one constructing these incredibly flawed rosters. He's the one who decided it was a good idea to roll the dice with 1 true Center on the roster. These are all CSD decisions.

Same. I appreciate their fight, but there is very little else I like about this team. It's painful to watch more often than not.

I agree that we aren't a good shooting team. I don't agree with the Omier criticism. He has been consistent all season. Almost always gets a double double.

The biggest problem is that we gambled on Roach and it has not panned out. We are relying on two freshman players to carry the load and that has its challenges (see Wright tonight). I also think we need to find another big in the transfer portal. Look at what a difference Veesaar makes for Arizona.

It is going to be hard for us to go far in the tourney without Josh O. Omier can't play 40 minutes without getting fouls. He isn't able to play aggressive basketball for long stretches for fear of fouling out.

Last comment, Arizona is just a better team than BU. Their passing was a thing of beauty. They have three excellent guards and bigs who can score (and shoot free throws).

5 needs to get 32s minutes. He plays serviceable D.

I can says this since guys get paid to play now, but I can't believe how bad Roach is.

I agree I just don't expect any changes because Drew signaled they have been supposedly made even though it's clear wherever he allegedly changed has not changed for the better. Drew doesn't seem like the kinda guy to wash out this new subpar staff after one year, but I'll be impressed if he does

Nunn scored 10 tonight on 3-of-4 shooting before that last garbage-time 3. He also had three rebounds and a couple of steals.

Dump on him when he plays poorly, but he wasn't the problem at all tonight. He did his job.

The problem is getting zero points from Wright, zero made 3s from Celestine, spotty production from Love, another ****ty game from Roach.

Jalen Celestine is no Mark Vital. We needed another frontcourt player and added a 6-7 shooting guard who can only shoot about half the time.

I think part of it is the mercenary nature of the team with NIL and one and done guys now. A lot of these players aren't guys we've grown to know over the years. Then add in mediocre on court results and it's just not as fun/meaningful as it has been in the past.

Norchad is the five in every lineup he's in now. Vital played some five occasionally when we went small, but that didn't happen often with EJ and Thamba in the rotation.

This team desperately needed another frontcourt player and we inexplicably forewent the opportunity to add one. The Josh O injury has only exacerbated what was already an issue.

This ignores a few key things. 1) We had real depth in 20 and 21 at the forward/center position. Meaningful depth that outplayed at least one of the starters. Recall flo was like a 15-20 minute a game guy.

Flo for all his faults was a still tall unlike Omier or Josh O so we had a true big man who could actually guard down low and allow the 4 to play away from the lane some.

If the vision was yeah we can win with a lineup we played less than half a game during the natty year then yikes. Realistically I think the vision was shot in the foot when we missed on a couple big gets in the portal and we were left with a half complete team.

Drew needs a GM bad so that can't happen again.

Wright took a confidence hit when he missed that shot at the buzzer against WVU. He made a couple really nice moves early tonight in the paint and just missed two 10 foot floaters. From there, his confidence was shot. In the 2nd half, he had numerous opportunities to take it to the basket and deferred. Growing pains of a freshman.

Maybe Roach's decent last 10 minutes will get him to something serviceable. I know he hasn't been good all year - but he seems an extra step slow since the 2nd concussion.

He was never a fast guy but I fully agree with that last sentence. He looks and plays at a much slower motion and decision making when he has the ball appears slower than he did earlier in the season. No idea of any direct tie to the concussions but I feel what you are saying is an accurate observation.

I'm just so tired of watching guards dribble nowhere.

Call me old school, but if it's not Wright or VJ attacking the rim, I want to see our guards swinging the ball to get an open shot.

There are few things on the planet worse to watch that bad iso basketball. And we have way too damn much of that in our offense.
