Sit back and watch in the second half. If Duke can get the lead to 20+, then you'll start hearing whistles on non-shooting fouls go against Duke that makes it go from 12-6 in fouls to 12-11 fast.

I was hoping Baylor would be able to keep it close. Problem is Duke is every bit as good as advertised. And Omier is not capable of avoiding fouls. Then again it's his aggressive play that probably helped us in the beginning. What do you do? Tell a puncher to stop punching?

Duke just has a better players and a better team. That was a pretty well known fact before too. That said the officiating has been pretty terrible. And it's been like this all tournament long

Was destined to happen with how Duke gets cushy officiating, the sport views Flagg as a necessity for the final four, and Omier can't not foul even when it's properly officiated.

Fully expect the winning margin to line up Almost perfectly with dukes shots from the charity stripe.


Drew go recruit a real roster on Monday, it's a crime we wasted the best one and done in school history.

No but you expect more discipline out of a guy playing his fifth full season. Omier was a disappointment on his discipline despite his elite ability to get the rebound or tip in.

Ummmm is anyone surprised? It doesn't even hurt. It's more just something you chuckle at.

Having the lead 6 minutes to go in the half was sweet given the free throw disparity and how much we were driving the ball and getting paint shots and touches.

I don't think it's discipline as much he's being forced to play out of position since Josh went out.

That 3rd foul wasn't stupid..he was trying to contest the shot.

Omier should have been able to have no more than 2 fouls in the first half. Biggest disappointment of the game. And he can't do it. Just is what it is

Oh I agree. His discipline sucks. But if he hasn't learned by now by his 5th year…..

True. The thing we could not afford to happen happened. And you know if Drew had kept him in he'd probably already be fouled out.

We can hope the whistles will be more balanced. But if we make a serious comeback we will just get more bogus fouls called against us.

Omier is what he is, and we've gone this far largely on his shoulders. He's basically been forced to take on 2-3 guys all year long. Why? That's the answer to the real issue. A colossal mistake was made last spring and summer when we decided to go into the season with only 2 legit front court players and then 1 goes out for the season.

I would love to see our 2021 team play against this Duke team. Or this year's Gonzaga, Tennessee, Houston, Arizona, etc. we would likely be undefeated and #1 overall seed. One of these days, hopefully soon, I want to see us do to Duke, UNC, UConn, & other blue bloods (not named Kansas) what we did to the Zags on April 5, 2021. And without any pandemic or other such global crisis to distract or diminish the accomplishment.

We are down 17 at half and have 17 less free throw attempts. Winning this game was always slim but can we get the refereeing sorted? It's been bad for a while now. How they call games will change at halftime and throw teams completely out of rhythm. Refs that go on ego trips like the dude who ejected Scott Drew last year.

Duke is honestly definitely not as good as advertised and by far the worst 1 seed. Officiating has been terrible, and just a bad matchup for us due to size.

A bunch of teams in the field of 64 have 2-3 guys 6'10 or better on their roster, some with two seven footers. Can we not find 1-2? Scott used to carry multiple bigs.

Worst one seed is a stretch considering how Houston and auburn played. But yes they've been over hyped all year

That team would destroy Gonzaga, Houston, Auburn or Tn. This Duke team could definitely keep it close but the 21' team probably wins.

Thamba was surprisingly good against true bigs and Vital/Jon would take turns on Flagg.
