Stanford feels like fools gold to me. Somewhat like last year. I don't see them going far in March
Watkins is a handfull but you make a good point!BUVA said:IowaBear said:

I'm still trying to figure how they allowed USC super frosh JuJu Watkins to score 51 points a few games back.
I think Stanford can beat anyone. They can also, as they've proven, lose to anyone.IowaBear said:

They are the most one dimensional they have been in years.IowaBear said:
Teams that can limit Brink will more than not handle them. I think they'll get bounced early again. Just one's opinion though
duke (17-9) has a cat quick freshman guard who is fun to watch even for the most random wbb fan.BUVA said:
Unranked Duke just beat #17 Syracuse 58-45
They did beat Houston yesterday and Prince played 31 minutes with 15 points and 6 rebounds. So yes, she appears back, but they do play WVU in Morgantown. We just need to win and take whatever seed we get, but yes, there is hope for something better than 6thDcheetah said:
Someone reported Prince is back forTCU. If true, maybe we have a chance.
Yea, whether we are 4 or 5 - we'll be facing each other in the third round. Would be nice to rest the legs a bit, but hopefully the ladies are ready with whatever seed we are able to secure. The two losses we experienced in the final minutes of games we lead by double digits might come back to haunt us in regards to seeding, but hopefully we've learned from them and can close out games in March!blackie said:They did beat Houston yesterday and Prince played 31 minutes with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Yea, but the 5 seed plays a game against a lower seed that has already played. As the 4 seed we are one upset away from playing a team who is on their third game in three days. I like those odds, no matter who we are playing. I also don't want to get TCU after they are "warmed up" Granted they aren't the same team with Owens, but Prince is well rested and likely hungry for some points.Leonidas said:
Based on one theory, the 5 seed has an advantage against the 4 seed because they have already played a game. The tired legs show up in the next round though
Beyond the Big12 tourney, what we really need is to get into the top 16 for the ncaa tourney. We are 19 in the ncaa net after games on Feb24. We just need to move up three more spots there
It's fantastic to see the Longhorns denied a share of their last shot at a regular season Big 12 Conference championship, when it looked for all the world like they had this game wrapped up until the very end.BUVA said:

no way the cats stay top 16. they'll be off to utah or some other distant region.IowaBear said:
I think they'll hang onto a ranking. Biggest concern for KSU is staying in the top 16 for hosting purposes. Tonight's reveal will be telling
I think UT could wind up being the only B12 team to host although OU may get boosted up with their two wins over UT. I just felt UT was not deserving of their high ranking especially without Harmon...they did keep winning though and Booker is the real deal.IowaBear said:

Agreed...but if BU wins the tourney or makes it to the finals there is a bit of a chance to sneak up to 16...IowaBear said:
BU is gonna need a lot to go their way imo to host. But you never know. I do think Tx and OU are the best chances at hosting.
It would be nice to see how they would have played with Harmon. I do not downplay her importance. But with her, they still can only put 5 on the court at a time. I am not familiar enough with their lineup to know who would come out. But if she goes on the court the first thing that has to happen is that she has to make up for that person's absence before you can start "adding" to their game because she is there. I.E. would Booker have had the impact she has had? Just a what if that can never be demonstrated or answered.Eball said:I think UT could wind up being the only B12 team to host although OU may get boosted up with their two wins over UT. I think BU could sneak in with a strong showing in the conference tourney. I think KSU, is done though.

I am no Longhorn lover, not even close, but with all the parity going on out there today, I would not discount their ability to do quite well in March.
