Reality of life: You get what you pay for.
More reality. It is too early to determine and adamantly state for certainty what we got.
We are going through the same recovery process as did Tennessee (still a work in progress), UT (paid a ton for Goestenkors who flopped) and others who lost an elite coach in WBB. And unlike us who got thrown under the bus and dumped, those schools had advance notice that change was going to occur. And with all their money and history they were a shell of themselves for years after. How much you pay or don't pay doesn't determine the outcome as shown in the examples above. And those changes happened when the parity in the sport was not even on the radar as to what we face today.
What we are seeing should NOT have been unexpected regardless of who we brought in that would come. "Baylor" was never the reason elite recruits came here over the last decade or so, it was always the coach and her recognized elite status. The way I see it is we have a pretty good base upon which to build. I'm sure a sticking point that may hold us back is NIL, but I do not have the first hand knowledge to speak accurately about that. I doubt anyone else here does either.
It is a lot more complicated now than it was only a few years ago, and likely involves factors that we don't even know about or have considered. The one thing I have no doubt about is CNC's desire and drive to win and develop her players.
