That is really a terrible crowd. Sorry to see that. We watch from home these days.

Don't worry, Baylor will announce 3800 or so
I'm not quite as dumb as I seem

Think the wide view actually looked a bit better. The student section showed sad numbers

Students just don't show up for mid week games. The student attendance for BYU Saturday game was pretty good.

Found out Sing rehearsals in progress. If they still work the same way, members get fined for missing them.

I thought the point of Foster was to have an arena we could actually fill.

I thought downsizing would would help the women, but boy, was i wrong. While i realize that men bball/FB carries Baylor, it really sucks to see such a big difference in attendance between the two. Top 25 team tied for 1st place, and we can't even fill the gym halfway.

I can't imagine bragging about our new arena to a top recruit, only for them to witness an empty gym on game day. I plan on going to the TCU game, and I pray that they don't outnumber us in our own house.

What does CNC do to endear herself to the fans? Anything?

She's already done more than enough imo; the ball is in the fans court now (the ones that left & don't support anymore).

Fans are under no obligation. Fans have no contract

I addressed possible reasons for the attendance already and won't go into it again. But they are all excuses, not reasons, other than too many of Mulkey's fans (and I use that term by intention because for many that was the draw, not the team) have either died or gotten to the point where they can't travel or attend. Even under Mulkey the student attendance was not anything to brag about. The only time I ever saw a large number was for a pizza giveaway and as soon as they got their pizza, most of them left. Some were walking away from the arena as we were walking it...the game hadn't even started.

CNC has already done enough to warrant support. She should have never been thrown under the bus like some did here in some threads in the first year. Some still take unfounded pot shots. She did not create the mess she took on and has likely literally saved the program from years and years of mediocrity (Tech says "hello"). She kept a core, yet with no depth, team here when any number of programs chomped at the bits to get Smith and Egbo (including the team to our east). But she got them to stay and kept us afloat long enough to bring in Buggs and Bella and keep us near the top of the conference. Had that not happened it is certainly feasible Baylor WBB could be fighting Houston to stay out of the conference cellar.

Our program got dumped. There is no other way to say it. And because many can't understand or won't admit it, it is impossible for them to appreciate the fantastic job she has done. Could someone else have done a better job? Obviously impossible to know, but I can name the handful of other programs who lost their elite coach that in hindsight would have loved to have gotten her for their first hire after.

The simple answer:

Make Final 4's and win championships - preferably, of the 'National' variety.

Yes.. bring on the bandwagon fans....

Agree that attendance is terrible. For the remaining games, Baylor should offer free tickets and have those sit in the upper arena, and anyone who is a season ticket holder in the upper levels, allow them to sit in lower levels, since those people don't show up anyway. I sit in the club level, section 118(which is one of the end wedges) and it is amazing how many seats closer to center are always empty. Not a good look.

The butt of a bandwagon fan takes up the same space as the butt of the long-term season ticket holder, 1seat

While that maybe true , I would rather keep the real baylor fans not the ones that only support when your up. As soon as they lose a game the bandwagon fans will go back where they started.

How many season tickets you have to BU WBB? Zero? How many BU WBB games you've attended? Zero? Are you even a BU WBB fan? Ever?
You're correct, same number seats but weigh less…no heart.

I had WBB season tickets from 2004-2012. I had MBB season tickets from 2006-2012. I have had football season tickets since 2009 to present.

Apology accepted

ps. I'm not a Baylor grad. I'm just Joe Waco slowly getting priced out of the market

WBB games are not pricing you out of the market.

By themselves, no. But between the three that I've done season tickets for, it's the least entertaining for me. I dropped the BB tickets to keep the football.

ESPN+ ensures that I don't miss any games

I just recognized a fatal mistake in BU Athletics' marketing strategy--They have a TikTok page, but are very inactive on it. I get that there are political/data concerns with the platform, but you can't get anyone under 25 (and probably older) interested in anything these days without a presence on that space.

it's the same other places. i gave up my mbb tickets because of price, nil and portal. i just don't enjoy the game as much with all the "trafficking."

wbb up here is $10 for general admission plus $10 for parking. so $20 gets me in the game and arriving early i get a good (cheapskate) seat.

we have had football season ticket for 30 years and wouldn't give them up for anything - 40 yard line, row 23.

It's all Mack Rhoades fault. Dude has steadily driven just about every program into the ditch of mediocrity.

Is going to the Sweet 16 last year and currently tied for #1 in the conference mediocrity?!?!?!?

For some schools it would be the best two years in program history. For BUWBB, it's par.

Depends on whether it's a blip, or a long- term trend.

Finally I get to post a pic of a full house. The one and only good crowd for the year. All the ingredients were there - Casual Sunday evening - Rival TCU - Title up for grabs. Take away these things, especially the last two and I suspect it would have been the normal 5,000 empty seats. And I suppose next year will be the same.

You know what else would have helped our recruiting?

Actually winning the game yesterday.

We let a golden opportunity slip through our fingers.

Just hope we don't look back at this game as being the one where the tide turned for our program, and we allowed a team like TCU to gain the upper hand.

Because Mark Campbell looks like he might be a problem moving forward.

I was at the Tip Off club reception for the seniors after the game last night. Coach Nicki was composed talking about each senior. At the end, she thanked the people there for their support. She got emotional and tearful talking about the crowd last night. She said it is what she has been begging for all year. She also commented something to the effect of as much as she wanted to win a Big XII championship, she also really wanted to win for the people that showed up last night in hopes they would continue to come back and support them again in the future.
