Trinity jones was already following those teams and coaches, but i was just going by what was recent. She followed coach nicki, taliah scott and the baylorwbb page as of late nobody after that.

I hope that we are battling for a forward behind the scenes. Other than Vivian Iwuchukwu from (usc), whom Coach Aaron has followed and she is following back, I haven't seen anything connecting us to any bigs.

I'm liking what potential we have with Lo.

They're saying Bella was a 5-star recruit as well.

I'm wondering…Could we be done? Maybe a insurance player with PF size? Do we have NIL left to be a serious contender for Trinity? Could the next player be Deng returning? A high percentage scorer, any position?
I have no idea. Landing Trinity would be the most surprising to me.

It's a wait and see on Deng because usually the likelihood on a player returning back to the same school that the player decided to enter transfer portal is small percentage. I know that she hasn't committed anywhere yet, but I know you can commit outside the transfer portal window once you enter. I wouldn't leave anything to chance on whether Marcayla plays next year or not. This is one of the reasons why we try to get 2 more players in general. Maybe this is the year to get to 14 players just in case that Marcayla doesn't play next year.

Trinity Jones final 6 were: Clemson, Lsu, Tenn, Tcu, Ok, Ucla. They are saying one of those will likely be her landing spot (with highest bidder of course). 5-star, ranked #10/#11 for class 2026, McDonalds AA.

I agree. BU is a very small blip on her radar.

Wait and see what CNC can bring in.

Some calendar items to remember:

1) deadline to enter the Transfer Portal is this upcoming Tuesday

2) once entered into Portal not really a hard deadline to sign except enrollment deadlines

3) almost every college WBB coach is on the road every weekend for the next few weeks scouting high school tournaments/showcases

4) Baylor Summer 2026 starts May 18 for Minimester and June 8 for Full Semester

Accounting for time to handle transfer paperwork, etc. and plan for Summer attendance, expect the final piece(s) of Portal Class to be finalized this week or next. And in all likelihood in the Monday-Thursday windows due to travel.

So you likely will have a complete picture in the next 11 days.

Given the profile of every Add from the Portal, have a hard time seeing Deng returning. The Player Profile on every Add is Plus Athlete. Deng is very skilled but in no universe is a Plus Athlete.

Agree. Deng would not start if she did return. Also her minutes would likely be limited if she did not improve her defense and start going to basket more.

Removed skylar jones from the list, all of the rest is still current, no new follows of follow backs.

While adding O'Neal would be huge, players like Smith, Puryear, Brady, etc. might be affordable good value options.

Is Essence Cody really healthy?

As an aside: it is REALLY nice to have recruiting momentum instead of being one of the Wait Wait Wait Come Up Mostly Empty-handed schools. Attacking the Portal pays off sooooooooooooo much.

That's all things that can be worked on. She is a talented player.

Aaliyah Moore has ties to Harris so i wonder if maybe we could sway her to come. It would give us versatility in that position with either Ross or Aaliyah who gives completely different looks at the forward spot.

I'm not sold on Moore. This will be her 6th year. She's been plagued with recurring injuries, 4 surgeries, missed significant time including 2025-2026 season. She never really got her college career going. She was a very promising 5-star recruit out of high school, McDonalds AA.

Don't think the roster needs another undersized four (already have two).
Need either 6'2 with extreme athleticism or 6'3 and above.

best to recruit a solution for big opponents. If UCLA taught anything this season, size can be a huge equalizer to superior athleticism..

I know her sister is committed there and she is from Katy, but still...moving from a F4 contender in the SEC to a team at the bottom of the B12 is crazy

I honestly don't see them bringing in another PF that is starting caliber. I see them leaning on Ross and increasing Kayla's minutes at PF since Lorena and Kyla will likely solidify the C. Maybe another SG/SF wing, since Marcayla is recovering, to go behind Taliah and Tianna. Right now, we only have Skylar at SF, though with some flex up and down with Tianna (up) and Reese (down).

WOW!!! Huge pickup for them and the new coach, but mind-boggling to hear that she made that choice.

They showed interest in O'Neal. Despite any blustering by player or agent, O'Neal is a 4 all day long.

She's a guard who flexes up as needed. They were likely looking at her for the SF. Another PF would be nice. I just don't see them doing it based on the way they've structured the roster since CNC took the reigns. Tons of guards/wings (sometimes undersized) for a primarily 3-ball from deep ran offense. I liked the offense much better with Netty providing a much needed interior presence to go with the perimeter game. I'm, hoping Lorena and her 6'5 frame provides at least 3/4 or more of what Netty brought. So, I agree and hope we can get some more (quality) interior presence. It's just hard to see them going away from what they've always done.

Just out of curiosity, who is saying those will be one of the landing spots? Everything I have seen is that no one really knows anything beyond that she took a visit to Maryland and us.

O'Neal is 6'4. She might be a guard in her mind, her body is a 4.

The recurring talking point I positional flexibility…..and the adds prove it out. But the roster has only one glaring opening…..a four with size. Everything else is a luxury item.

as far as past decisions…..best to ignore. CNC started three perimeter players 5'6 and below one season.

not sure why it has taken so long for them to get serious about roster building and proper player profiles, but this year is the first where the staff appears to have a clear plan and are working it.
CyBearSecurity
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yeah, she's 6'4 and is listed as a guard and that's what she prefers to play (out on the wing). She also didn't play PF for Florida. She's just not doing it. Not sure what else the staff has in mind, but we'll see.

Florida's starters were 5'9, 5'11, 6'0, 6'4 & 6'4.
Regardless of the labels used, O'Neal was the 4.
All day every day.
BearTiger
How long do you want to ignore this user?
You are correct. O'neal prefers to play on the perimeter rather than the traditional post/power forward. She considers herself a "big guard", who uses her height and strength to shoot over smaller defenders and post up. She loves to step back and shoot. Her game emphasizes ball handling, mid-range shooting, and 3-point shooting. That's how she said she wants to play and "carve her own path." Florida gave her the freedom to do this. She doesn't want to be forced to play power forward/center.
