Just some perspective, today is my brother's birthday so I went to visit him. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's 3 1/2 years ago, and it's been nasty in progression. He's lost the complete use of one arm and leg, two fingers on the other arm, and while he can still speak he's developed that funny tilt to his head that Stephen Hawking had.Oldbear83 said:I hate a rough week, and this is not helping.GoldMind said:

That Home Run by Bregman was really nice to see.
I have a friend who has Parkinson's. It is difficult to see the progression with both physical and cognitive challenges. Puts things in perspective.Oldbear83 said:Just some perspective, today is my brother's birthday so I went to visit him. He's not handling the limitations well, and was kind of hard to speak with today. I really wanted something good after a difficult visit.
Yeah. Problem is, he collects stamps and used to go to stamp shows all over the country. He really wanted to go to a show in Columbus Ohio, but there's no way he could get the approvals from the assisted living center, his doctor, or my sister who handles his finances.D. C. Maldonado loses grip on a strikeout, lets Guzman reach. Better fix that real fast.
Guzman did score. Just being nit-pickyGoldMind said:Oldbear83 said:

In the meantime, he's blocked everything else, didn't cost a run, and the Rangers don't have a stolen base on him.

This is by far the crappiest weekend of baseball I have seen from the Astros in at least 2 years.
Lots of time to come back and fix the mess, but from wild pitching to batting to field errors, this weekend has been one of the worst team efforts I can remember.
Not blaming them, not really blaming anyone, but the weekend sucked and that's a fact.GoldMind said:McCannOldbear83 said:

Well that was a sucky series. Need to bounce back but that is hard to do when the Astros are missing those 3 dudes. I do find it cute the Flower Mound fans started their own thread about sweeping us. I guess that will be all they have come October. Go 'Stros!!!!
Lol I just went through that thread. Must be a sad season if that's the highlight of the year for them.Bear8084 said:

I mean I like winning the SIlver Boot and all away from West Tyler as much as the next Astros fan, but in the end H-Town has the Commissioner's Trophy, they don't, and all is right in the World.BearFoot said:Lol I just went through that thread. For a guy obtained for his defense, it sure has not come as advertised. He got bailed out by a bunt being called foul, on which Maldonado threw wildly to 3rd. What has come as advertised is his sucky bat.Oldbear83 said:

does val think he won his gold glove on his good looks and multiple home runs?
with McCann, who I love, being questionable for the future, getting a young GG winner is a great move long termGoldMind said:JusHappy2BeHere said:With a team and pitching staff he barely knowsGoldMind said:ValpoCory said:For a guy obtained for his defense, it sure has not come as advertised.
