Baylor Soccer Adds Three Transfers before Christmas
Lost in the shuffle of the Armed Forces Bowl plus holiday travel and festivities, Michelle Lenard and Baylor Soccer were able to add three student-athletes from the transfer portal on December 21st.
Tyler Isgrig, a rising sophomore forward from the DFW area who was a highly touted recruit out of Arlington Martin, comes to Baylor after her freshman season at TCU. She earned a Big 12 freshman of the week honor last season, scored six goals and dished out three assists in 619 minutes of action across 21 games.
Per 90 minutes, that would be 0.87 goals and 0.44 assists, so 1.3 goal contributions per full game of action. Very productive. Baylor will be hoping those numbers at least stay the same with increased playing time if she can earn it.
In the midfield, Lenard added Hannah Boughton from Missouri. Projecting as a box-to-box midfielder for the Bears, the Colleyville native was a top 200 recruit in the 2022 class according to Top Drawer Soccer.
In her one year at Mizzou, she started 16 of the Tigers’ 17 games, scoring one goal and making three assists. With Maddie Algya graduating and Gabby Mueller transferring out, bringing in a starting quality player is a good win for the roster.
Lastly, the green and gold added Natalie Vatter, a defender who played for Ole Miss last season. The Highlands Ranch, Colorado native redshirted last year, so she has all four years of eligibility left.
Based on the above tweet, she could possibly be looked at as an outside back or wingback who will provide on the offensive end as well as on defense.
