Just throwing this out there, but that guy's foundational premise is incorrect. Ashcroft's memo from 2003 was specifically superseded by a memo from Holder in 2010 with different guidance, but even Ashcroft's memo leaves a lot more room for prosecutorial discretion than he is portraying.

There's pictures of Hunter with damn near unclothed underage teens sitting on him.

Nothing is going to be done about that. Why is that acceptable to you?

Way to completely sidestep the substance of
what you're replying to

"Damn near unclothed" huh, sounds like a whiny way of saying that conduct you don't like isn't illegal. Keeping in mind the rules of evidence and the need to prove what you allege in court beyond a reasonable doubt, what do you think should happen? I haven't seen the pictures so this is an honest question, but what does "damn near" unclothed actually mean, like a bathing suit or something? Can you prove they were underage, or does saying they were just confirm your bias?

The guy you voted for bragged about intentionally entering a dressing room full of underage girls unannounced so he could see them naked, so what leg do you think you have to stand on complaining about Hunter Biden? In a contest between that guy, and a guy who's sons is shady, because that's what the 2020 election was, the choice seems easy to me.

I've asked four(?) times on this thread ... can any of the fascist regressives explain how Biden got all of this money China Joe did not report on his taxes ...

It was reported on his taxes, that's literally how we know he got paid. It says where it came from in the article too, in a direct quote of Ted Cruz. It's also not $10m like the headline says, it's $12.2m total from speaking fees and an advance on his book deal.

Cruz acts like he's too dumb to understand how book deals work and the concept of advance payment, because he knows people like you actually are too dumb to understand and will get riled up about it.

I'm honestly surprised how feeble this attempt to spin up a scandal is (the main supposed "witness" has been dead for years? Lol). It's clear they had to run with it before they were ready because of Trump's dumb ass getting indicted.

As I've said I haven't really followed this. Is this true, Harrison was up in a tizzy because he can't read? Color me shocked! I identify as plain shocked!

After reading the rest of the thread, it seems Hunter is a bad guy. But Repubs are no closer to proving any sort of bribery, and just dragging this out as long as they can.

This is like when the media did years of investigations into Trump over bs things. Plenty going against Trump/Biden, no need to make stuff up.

We all know politicians get rich. It is amazing how public servants are so rewarded. You have to be able to prove wrongdoing though, if you want to be taken seriously.

Dragging it out? It's been less than a month since they discovered 20 shell companies with millions going into them.

What evidence do you need that isn't already public to show that bribery occurred?

Evidence of bribery. Unless every time someone gets money it is a bribe. Did Trump take bribes when millions went into his shell accounts? Did Kushner take a big bribe when the Saudis invested billions with him?

This is not difficult:

"Joe Biden's personal finances changed little between 2022 and the previous year, though his book royalties fell sharply, according to White House financial disclosure reports released on Monday.

Biden earned between $2,500 and $5,000 in book royalties in 2022, down from $30,000 a year earlier. He also earned less than $3,000 in "speaking and writing engagements", from close to $30,000 last year, the disclosures show.

The disclosures, which included Jill Biden's income, showed her book royalties also dropped. She earned between $5,000- $15,000 in 2022 compared with $15,000- $50,000 from book sales a year earlier.
The report also showed the couple's assets were worth between $1.09m and $2.57m."

Really popular while in office: Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr.'s publishing career earned him considerably less than the president's totals. "Promises to Keep," released in 2007, earned less than $201 in royalties last year, according to Mr. Biden's financial disclosure form, also released on Thursday.

And "speaking fees" also mean sharing documents with Chinese officials at his Chinesep-funded classified document library.

Without having to dig myself, why is it that you say he barely made anything from his book deal, when others say millions? What sort of disconnect is this?

Trump has literally had dozens of companies in operation for decades. There are many, many reasons for Trump to have millions of dollars flowing into his companies.

Biden has not had a real job since he entered office almost 50 years ago. There are no legit reasons for millions of dollars to just suddenly appear in his bank accounts. There is also no legit reason for Biden to have almost 2 dozen shell companies. What is he doing with all those paper businesses? Why do they exist? When did he start transacting and for what purpose?

The difference is a man who has been running business entities for over 50 years, has legit reasons to own multiple businesses and multiple entities. That same man has also been doing business around the world for decades, so there are legit reasons for money to be made in other countries and for that money to flow back into the bank accounts of his American entities. Then you have Biden who hasn't done any business anywhere overseas... and suddenly he gets millions of dollars at a time, dumped into his fake business entities. One of these has the potential to be from legit business actions, and the other is clearly some form of payout/bribery.

Sure, sure. So just curious, say Trump had accepted bribes, how would you know? You're right, he has legit reasons to take in millions from Chinese shell companies during his presidency, so maybe you'd want, I don't know, some proof it was a bribe?

The shell accounts along with an FBI informant's report that $10 million was paid in bribes to Hunter and Joe when he was VP by Ukrainian oligarch and Burisma founder Mykola Zlochevsky.

Zlochevsky called the then-vice president "the big guy," Hunter reffered to someone as "the big guy" in his emails from his laptop.

There's plenty of evidence to get to the bottom of this, but we want to drop everything? This plea deal stopped the investigation.

Without having to dig myself, why is it that you say he barely made anything from his book deal, when others say millions? What sort of disconnect is this?
Just to clarify, I am not saying what he made off book and speaking deals. I am sharing data about how much he made of speaking and book deals. I am applying basic reason that if he made <$300 in royalites in 2013 and <$5,000 in 2022, I would be surprised if suddenly he earned millions in between. For his entire career, Biden has been a buffoon. Even among the most strident Democrats, I don't see any evidence there is a strong desire for anyone to pay for the bull**** that comes out of his mouth.

The question you should ask is where is the evidence he made millions from his book. You seem to accept the Democrat claim without critique. Where is the contract with this book publisher for the advance and the statistics on his annual sales that support the claim he made millions from his book.

Similarly, let's see a list of all the paid speaking engagements and associated honorariums that add up to > $12M. Again, you seem to uncritically accept his defense while dismissing any data that contradicts it. If Biden legitimately made $12.2M on book royalties and speaking engagements, let's see the receipts.

Again, Biden always has been a buffoon whose not been sentient for at least four years. Honestly, ask yourself - do you really think he made millions of dollars in legitimate speaking fees in 2018? 2019? I bet if you do an online search you likey cannot find five events that paid him to speak.

It is not partisan but a legitimate concern of national interst that we have a corrupt president owned by several foreign governments, but becuase people are so tribal and small minded the only responses can be FAKE NEWS or BUT TRUMP. Some things are bigger than immature partisanship.
