It's remarkable how confident you are that Trump will play nice if he loses the primary. It's almost as if you're ignoring all evidence to the contrary. After he lost the 2020 election, he didn't do much of anything to help Georgian Republicans get elected. And since that time he regularly attacks republicans he has deems disloyal. And of course we have the 2020 election denial nonsense. The idea that he'll play nice if he loses the primary is very much in doubt.

Facts are facts. While President, his support for party operations and candidates was strong. As a result, his support within the party is strong. He's played very good team ball, including with opposing factions, to include staying away when asked and playing nicely with establishment types and others who had harshly criticized him in the past. Reality is, there is nothing in his record to suggest that he will burn down the party or run third-party should he lose the nomination. Such would cost him influence and gain him nothing. Actually would increase the power of the people harassing him with lawfare.

Just pointing out the obvious = he's pragmatic and plays the party game well. No evidence at all that he will do what you fear, so perhaps your fears have more to do with campaign memes than reality.....

As will they all. He roughed up Ted Cruz as the primary wound down, but spun on a dime and played nicely when Ted came on board. And he never held prior comments against most of the GOP elected class. Worked very well with them.....supported them, etc.....

Trump ran people out of office even though it cost Republicans several senate seats, see AZ, GA, and NH
nope.. Trump doesnt vote in any of those states. The voters did that, just like the voters elected Joe Biden.

The republicans cost those seats thru internal fighting during a time of ground swell towards replublicans. Unitl there is unity, the Dems will rule washington, its that simple. A split Dem party brought you Trump and now a split GOP brought you the current congress and Biden.

I don't care what he said about Cruz or DeSantis. I understand that's part of the game. But when the Senate's at stake and he tells people not to vote, you're telling me that's par for the course?

Looks like I misremembered. It was Sidney Powell and Lin Wood who told people not to vote. You have to remember, though, that when Trump talks about solving 2020 he's not talking only, or even primarily, about legislative reforms going forward. He was demanding a special session to overturn the results and give Georgia a "do over," something he knew or should have known was never going to happen. He later admitted that his message was unclear because of his anger over 2020, but instead of changing it he doubled down in 2022--with predictable results. I still maintain this is not normal behavior. Even with every benefit of the doubt, it's unhinged at best. And let's not gloss over the most important fact here. If his prediction is accurate and Republicans don't vote in 2024, it will be in large part because of the fear and resentment that he insists on spreading.

He also made clear that each of those officers were in the Navy for personal gain, while Queeg served when it was unfashionable and offered no personal gain. Queeg hurt himself at the court-martial, but the truth was not served and in the end that was made clear.

You chose a poor analogy, sir.

It is telling how the Trump haters ignore the poor morals of Democrats but go after Trump to the point of exaggerating his sins and embracing every claim against him, even the lies, in hopes he will cow to them and go away.

4th is hardly a "die hard Trump" guy. Neither am I.

Don't fall into the Mothra trap. Pointing out that (at this point), the nomination is an uphill climb for RDS is not support or opposition. It's just a sound reading of the landscape.

Trump is not going to step away. He's not going to fade away. He's going to have to be defeated. And that will not be easy. Knocking off an incumbent is never easy.

Trump is also a victim. Of a Democrat Congressional Leadership that would not work with him. Ryan and his crowd not willing to work with him. The media attacking him constantly. And, Foreign Leaders that treated him as a not being worthy of being there. In the end, it fed Trump's paranoia and ego to create what we see today. At the end of the day or book, both Trump and Quigg were broken and incompetent.

If you want to dig further into the Wouk book. Trump also served when not fashionable and got little credit, look at his investments and developments in the 70's and 80's. Even Atlantic City was a Quixote like attempt to bring life back to the Boardwalk. The Wollman Skating Park in Central Park. Riverside South. 40 Wall Street. All were instrumental developments that he gets little credit. There was a time, similar to Quigg, when Donald was the only one betting on NY and taking the time, money and risk to develop it. Before he became a Cartoon character. So, yeah he put in his time.

And as for Quigg hurting himself. Trump NEVER did that. Not from Election Day until January 6th. He was the standard bearer for not hurting himself in the media!!! You seem to have forgotten that fighting like hell over nominees didn't use to entail personal attacks regarding fellow Republicans' wives' looks, or suggesting they were guilty of sexual assault based on a photo with purported high school girls. It's interesting that the Dems have been able to remain out of the gutter and above such dysfunction when trying to differentiate themselves from other candidates. Trump might want to try it.

Of course, it's hard to remember a Republican candidate who paid off a porn star and then lied about it to the American people. He is indeed a different breed.

It's interesting that the Dems have been able to remain out of the gutter and above such dysfunction when trying to differentiate themselves from other candidates. Trump might want to try it.

Hard to delineate all the fallacies woven in that. Reality is, he can't legally profit from political fundraising, and it's not at all clear how he personally benefits more from 3rd party spite that would make his brand smaller rather than larger.

The 3rd party play only makes sense if he's actually trying to win the WH and/or build a true 3rd party.

Trump is losing money with the public office gig and pursuit. This is a bad business decision for him. He went fro 3.6 billion to 2.5 billion. He is bleeding money.

This is ALL about vengence, spite and revenge. If he was only interested in money, he would get out and start making money again.
Nothing wrong with being angry at losing an unfair election and making things right by winning a rematch.
