Great article (except for their citing of the artificially low KIA numbers for the UAF invented by the same malcontents that kept the war going).

Particularly the part that exposes how profiteering, not national security considerations drive NATO expansion.

[The most recent Episode 11, where Carlson conducted an interview with rapper Ice Cube has been seen just 6.1 million times since it was posted last Thursday. However, those are still numbers that any prime-time cable news channel producer or executive would kill for.]

Twitter/X views on a video are not like watching a TV program. Analytics would bear that out and I guarantee way less than a million actually watched any of Carlson's videos. A Twitter/X view works about like counting a TV viewership every time you scroll by a channel. Post analytics will tell the real story (such as how many stayed past a minute and other time points) and I doubt Forbes got access to that or Tucker shared it. Instead they just pull the little "views" stat on the post. I'm sure millions saw that Tucker posted an interview with Ice Cube or any assortment of guests as he has lots of followers and is a promoted brand, but how many actually take the time to watch his interviews is a much much smaller number.

Well, he has launched his own subscription based network. Let's see how it does. He started out strong but some of his more recent internet interviews and interviewees have been a bit underwhelming. Personally I think he would have done better if he had joined an existing network like BlazeTV. An annual subscription based service just for his material is more like a substack vlog than a real network.

I'm going to subscribe just because he is one of the few journalists who doesn't lie to advance mainstream narratives.

not resurrecting it at all. Just noting the bloody flippin' obvious - that moving Russian armies 600mi closer to NATO armies increases risk of direct contact between Nato/Russia.

The obvious is that Russia considered NATO an existential threat and putting Ukraine in NATO upped the ante

Duh

except that nobody was "putting Ukraine in NATO." duh.

Ukraine jabbering about wanting to join NATO does not = Ukraine in Nato.
NATO jabbering about conditions for Ukraine joining NATO does not = Ukraine in Nato.
UKraine had not even applied to join Nato when Russia invaded.

If Russia had not invaded Ukraine, Ukraine would not be on-track to join Nato.
if Russia had not invaded Ukraine, Finland would not be IN Nato.
if Russia had not invaded Ukraine, Sweden would not be IN Nato.
If Russia had not invaded Ukraine, the Zelensky government would likely be facing looming election defeat (to a pro-Russian candidate.)

Fact is, Russian aggression has united all of Europe against Russia (except for Belarus).
Somehow, you blame everyone but Russia for that.

In true autocrat fashion...

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/11/14/russias-putin-imposes-new-curbs-on-election-reporting

'The changes Putin greenlighted limit coverage of Central Election Commission sessions to registered media outlets, which could exclude freelancers or independent journalists, according to the reports on Tuesday. The amendments prohibit media from reporting on the commission's actions at military bases or in areas under martial law without advance clearance from regional and military authorities.

They also bar the publication of any campaign content on "blocked sources", referring to restricted websites and social media services. Under an intensifying crackdown on the opposition and the flow of information, Russia has banned an array of websites and services, including Facebook and Instagram.'

'To enforce this ban, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media also reportedly plans to block certain virtual private networks (VPNs) that Russians widely use to bypass internet restrictions. The state-owned news agency RIA quoted the ministry on Sunday as saying that it could block certain "VPN services and VPN protocols" that an expert commission identifies as a "threat."

Russia's self-nominated candidates for president must submit paperwork to the Central Election Commission by December 27, while party-nominated candidates must do so by January 1, said commission member Natalia Budarina.

Quote:

"The CEC of Russia will have 10 days to make a decision whether to register a candidate. So no later than February 10, registration will be granted to the candidates that all of us, citizens of Russia, will then see on the ballot during the voting days," she said.
On December 7, the Federation Council passed a resolution setting the date of the Russian presidential election as March 17, 2024.

Dude. Are you seriously saying that the ONLY interests which benefit from supporting Ukrainian defense of their territory are western banks/corporations? That western banks/corporations start every war just to make money? No one in Russia makes a dime from war?

Western business interests forced Western governments to force Russia to invade Ukraine so that western business interests could make profit from war?

The Cold War was just a business model for western business interests and had nothing to do with Russian imperial ambitions?

The motivation for all parties is profit. Imperial ambition is the same thing as seeking profit: capturing land, ownership, people.

The Ukrainian government is making out like bandits while the Ukrainian people are getting hoodwinked.

It's not the Ukrainian people's land if they win, it will be either the west or Russia's land. The west will capture it through rebuild: blackrock with $411 BILLION on the table already.

No, they are not. You just don't understand them. Banks don't make any money when their collateral is getting bombed and/or seized by foreign powers.

You are taking a valid concept, that some business models profit from war, and expanding it to absurd proportions.

Its not going to end in an all or nothing scenario.

After Ukraine can't manage any longer, a peace deal will be brokered where Russia gains a portion of Ukraine. The rest of Ukraine will be financially seized by western interests.

The west and Russia are divvying up the spoils of war. Watch it happen.

When are y'all going to learn that the last 70 years has been 100% about MONEY? People worship money, why is this news for y'all?

Have you lost your ever-lovin' mind?

The motivation for all parties is profit. Imperial ambition is the same thing as seeking profit: capturing land, ownership, people.

The Ukrainian government is making out like bandits while the Ukrainian people are getting hoodwinked.

It's not the Ukrainian people's land if they win, it will be either the west or Russia's land. The west will capture it through rebuild: blackrock with $411 BILLION on the table already.
so, again. you think the Ukrainian people are completely indifferent as to whether their government is in Kyiv or Moscow?
If the west couldn't capitalize on the situation then the west would be indifferent.

Same situation is happening elsewhere and we don't give a damn.
Your "Western Guilt" sounds exactly like the ultra-progressives "White Guilt". Go far enough one way and you're the exact same person you bltch about on the other side.
White guilt is woke nonsense.

Banks and mega corporations bankrolling politicians to benefit themselves is a FACT.

Putin got the 'Lord of War/Merchant of Death' Viktor Bout released in exchange for petty dope fiend basketball player Brittney Griner, We're not serious people my guy. Its embarrassing.

There's a reason why DC won't do anything about mass illegal immigration, healthcare costs, inflation and any of the other insane bs screwing the middle class. It has everything to do with who benefits financially from these problems. How can America help Ukraine when we can't even stop millions of illegals from crossing the border, can't stop fentanyl, lost in Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq and so on?

Ukraine is exhausting its young combatants and their injuries will be chronic/long lasting. Further they loses their labor productivity. They'll have a country of old men, also wounded, that have no positive economic yield. Taxes cant cover this cost.

Anybody who is actually familiar with the defense industry, listens to every earnings call and etc, knew the Ukraine war was gonna have a short shelf life and asymmetrical advantage to Russia once they got air cover and their defense industry ramped up.

Economics of war isn't new.

So this war was always about getting NATO military bases closer to Russia?

Good to see people are dropping the charade that the war in Ukraine was being conducted by the US leadership to "save democracy".

About as ludicrous as Putin's "we are going into Ukraine to fight Nazis"

It was and is all about geo-strategic military power plays

Russian victory in Ukraine would be more valuable to the defense industry than the trickle of relatively inexpensive weaponry we're sending now. A greater direct Russian threat would only lead to the justifiable necessity for the really expensive defensive and offensive armaments and positions.
