Paxton impeachment is unfair and political. The charges and accusations are prior to 2022. He was reelected. He beat someone named Bush and Dems hate his guts because is a supporter of Trump. God bless Ken Paxton.
Son, if there really is a Hell, Ken Paxton has been on the express train there for a long, long time--long before he was elected TX A.G.
As for God blessing ole Ken, how many of these Commandments has Paxton broken?
- Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
- Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.
- Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
- Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
- Honor thy father and thy mother.
- Thou shalt not kill.
- Thou shalt not commit adultery.
- Thou shalt not steal.
- Thou shall not bear false witness.
- Thou shall not covet.
Just, shut up. No one needs you to lecture us on commandments that you don't believe in.
Back off. I don't need you to state my beliefs for me.
For the record, I believe the Judeochristian system of ethics, embodied by the 10 commandments, which were amended by Christ with a commandment to love your neighbor as yourself and "do unto others as you would have them do unto you," are an excellent system of ethics.
My problem with Christianity isn't God or the system of ethics laid out in the Bible; it's Christians who claim his authority and superiority without also striving to adhere to his system of ethics.
On a low level, I've found that church athletic leagues are among the meanest and dirtiest.
On a high level, evangelicals and fundamentalist Catholics who supported a corrupt, mean, snarky, dishonest, dishonorable, born-on-third-base-and-thinks-he-hit-a-home-run shyster like Donald Trump have sacrificed any credibility in terms of moral authority. Ken Paxton is a piker compared to Donald Trump, and it took 8 long years for him to finally wear out his welcome with an overly tolerant Republican base that was already in bed with one of the least Christ-like men ever to walk the planet. What's disappointing is that it took the supposed good guys so long to demand any accountability from Paxton. And it still may not stick.
Keep going to church. Maybe eventually some of the Bible evangelicals huff and puff about when they only read half of it and make sure its behavioral prohibitions only apply to women and people you don't consider worthy to be above the law, like Trump and Paxton, will soak in.
