I didn't defend Stickland. I attacked Phelan for wasting his time attacking a very disagreeable lieutenant of one of the largest conservative donors in the country, in order to distract from his own abysmal failures of leadership.
Now that this noble work (sic) is done, let's see if Phelan has the courage to lash out at the real beating hart of anti-semitism in this country - Democrats - or if he continues gnawing on the bones of his (ostensibly) own coalition. Will he attack Democrats for border policy which is inflicting enormous damage on millions of Texans? Or will he keep up the petty intra-party squabbling with Republicans who disagree with him? My money will be on the latter. That's two big fights he's picked within his own party in the span of a few months. Apparently, that's all he knows how to do. Wolf in sheep's clothing, your buddy Phelan is....saving Texas from Republicans, By God!
Phelan has shown courage and has lashed out at the beating "hart" (sic) of anti-semitism - Your think Fuentes isn't an anti-semite? Dan Patrick and Wilks do.
75% 0f Texas House members agreed with Phelan. 96% of Congressional Republicans supported McCarthy. Yet you support the arsonists who are burning down the Republican majority.
If you want to see a Republican civil war, look no further than DC. The Gaetz 8, 4% of the Republican conference, combined with 100% of Congressional Democrats, to let slip the dogs of war.
Oh quit whacking off to Phelan's red-herring. Fuentes is not a Republican. One Republican consultant making an inexplicably bad decision to meet with him (assuming such was the context) is not evidence of a "beating heart of anti-semitism" within a political party.
What IS evidence of a beating heart of anti-Semitism within a political party is a member of Congress spouting Hamas-propaganda at a demonstration at our Capitol, leading to a sit-in (near riot) INSIDE the US capitol in support of a terrorist group which currently holds American citizen hostages. True
And progressive activists all across the country rallying in support of Hamas, chanting the genocidal "...from the river to the sea...." chant about the destruction of the Jewish state and peoples. True
Yet, here you are, again, posting Phelan's skim coat bull**** to distract from the real problems, apparently to help Democrats, in so doing covering up for blatant, rampant, and most importantly institutional anti-semitism. Nonsense. Are you really trying to link Phelan to Democrat antisemitism? Fail.
.
What I see in Washington is 20 moderate Republicans refusing to even negotiate with a conservative Speaker designate. Very obvious that moderates would rather burn down the house rather than let a conservative lead it. The arrogance and entitlement of the moderates is raging on display. This is fiction
"whacking off"? Classy. At least you've given up defending Stickland's meeting with Fuentes. It took a while, but you're finally in the right place.
Your 4% burn down the house and you blame McCarthy.
Republicans agree that they would unite around the majority's choice for a new Speaker. Scalise gets the majority and a handful of your arsonists renege. You blame moderates.
Jordan's backers threaten and bully their colleagues who refuse to be bullied. You blame moderates.
Jordan can't get to 217 and you blame moderates. Thankfully, this is true.
If Democrats were really smart, a few would cross over and vote for Jordan. That would be a rolling disaster guaranteeing a Jeffires Speakership.
Thanks for confirming my statement by launching an unprincipled attack - that I have defended the meeting or its participants - purely for your own gratification (i.e. onanism) rather than attacking the real anti-semites on the left.
And we see that same pathology in the "4%" attack. McCarthy is completely responsible for his ouster. He made agreement with a group of conservatives to get their votes for speaker. He broke it. Numerous times. When it became clear, after repeated violations, that McCarthy had abandoned the agreement entirely (which were officially enshrined in party rules), they withdrew their support. They played by the rules; he didn't. You defend him. Typical.
The situation at this moment is: moderates are engaging in payback for a fight they caused, then you blame conservatives for being unreasonable. Typical.
We have an equal number of conservatives and moderates poking one another in the eye......and you blame conservatives. Typical.
We have most of the Democrat Party and many societal institutions engaging in shocking displays of anti-semitism....and you are attacking Republicans. Typical.
Forgive us for believing you are willing to burn it all down to stop conservatives (even to the point of giving cover to others engaging in antisemitic rioting and violence.
Speaking of unprincipled
Fact - 4% of Republicans side with 100% of Democrats and you side with Democrats. Then you criticize the 96%.. Well, we're 20 days into it. Congratulations to Gaetz. Hakeem Jeffries supports this message.
Fact - 75% of Texas Republicans vote to impeach a crook and you side with the 25%.
Fact - Patrick and Wilks condemned a meeting with Fuentes, the Hitler admirer. You defended it until the guy was finally fired.
Fact - Republican conference votes to unite behind the Speaker candidate who gets the most votes on a secret ballot. Scalise wins the majority and arsonists refuse to vote for Scalise. You support the bomb throwers, but when others do the same thing you call them obstructionists.
How about a little consistency
Speaking of unprincipled:
--you defend McCarthy making an agreement, then repeatedly violating it.
--you cite 4% as a moral yardstick, then ignore 10% doing the same.
--you hold the House vote as a yardstick, then ignore the Senate vote
--you state I defended something I a) never defended, and b) criticized.
--Scalise and Jordan had almost identical vote totals, an you ignore the latter.
I could do the same to you over the doxxing of the AG. A few house members broke the law doing that. Am I trying to tie you to that? Nope. Condemnation culture is soviet = small people running around with boogeymen demanding outrage, or else.
Grow a spine. Tell us who you support, rather than who you don't. Build something rather than throwing bombs all the time. Otherwise, some people might start to say you are acting like Gaetz
