I don't think I've made any specific claims around Judaism on this thread from what I can remember.

I have made more comments about Islam (none very flattering)…including pointing out that some scholars think Muhammad was a made up figure.

As for claims about the land. For instance what Bronze Age kingdom did or did not exist. What authority did or did not control the Western Levant pre-1948 I have been pretty open in sharing links to those historic facts.

But on issues like that I admit I have to take a historian at is word that the British did indeed control the area after the end of the Ottoman Empire.

I have no personal expertise/insider knowledge to the history of the region.

But I do try to read about it

I don't think that's it in Redbrick's case. I think he learned certain "facts" a long time ago and doesn't realize the mental gymnastics he is forced into in order to keep his opinion when facing real facts. He seems like he is one decent in-person conversation away from seeing what he is missing. But in an online forum there is no compulsion to back down or re-examine.

I don't think that's it in Redbrick's case. I think he learned certain "facts" a long time ago and doesn't realize the mental gymnastics he is forced into in order to keep his opinion when facing real facts. He seems like he is one decent in-person conversation away from seeing what he is missing. But in an online forum there is no compulsion to back down or re-examine.

Islam is a religion and people from a variety of ethnic groups are members, not only Arabs: Persians (Iran), Turks, people of African descent in America (Black Muslims), Somali, Sudanese, Indonesians, the different ethnicities of Afghanistan and the other Central Asian countries, and many others.
