If it's a Democracy how many Christians are in the Knesset?
It is a democracy and individuals from across the religious spectrum have, and still do, serve. No requirement to serve other than to win an election. Most Israeli Christians, about 1.9% of the total population, are Arabs.

Interesting because RAF Lakenheath does not house B1 units. It's a fighter squadron. F15E and F35As. I know every square inch of that place.

I assume you are talking about both sides?

He's talking about Hamas who started this war by indiscriminately murdering men, women & children in a totally barbaric manner. Every single death in this war is on their hands, including the deaths of people in Gaza.

If the want it to end, the can do so immediately by releasing all hostages, laying down their arms, & surrendering. They don't care about the people they lead. They are on their own crusade to destroy Israel & do to the east of Israel what they did to some in October 7.

It is insane to suggest Israel should make any concessions or stop fighting when they are winning and their enemy is so genocidal.

I get what you're saying but just don't agree.

This war has been going on a lot longer before Oct. 6th

It's been a tit for tat ethnic struggle since 1948 (probably before that)

To his credit, at least he went over there if only to stage some photos to look like he was doing something.

None of the Slava Ukraini's on this board like Trey or ATLbear did ***** They want other people to pay for and die for their wars.

I'm still waiting for one of the pro-Israel/Israel is our greatest ally guys to respond to my previous post:

Israel destroys the USS Liberty and kills 34 American servicemen in 1967 and instead of our leaders vowing to avenge the deaths of our people, they were rewarded with over $1 trillion, when adjusted for inflation, in economic and military aid. Why?

So Biden's strategy appears to be this: "Biden has finally begun his retaliatory attacks, hitting targets in Syria and Iraq. But sources claim that almost every target was known in advance and evacuated,". So launch a bunch of expensive Tomahawks at meaningless targets without any tactical effect. Make it look like you are avenging the deaths of the three who "died for this administration" for the upcoming election.

Meanwhile "The United States is actively pursuing the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with security guarantees for Israel and exploring options with partners in the region, the State Department spokesperson said on Wednesday.

Whitehouse Spokesman Matthew Miller confirmed.

He says the carrot is "security guarantees for Israel". You have to understand how politi-speak works. In diplomatic/political terms, "security guarantees" is translated as: 'bribes'. It effectively means, we'll give you x amount of billions of dollars for weapons if you do what we say.

A new WaPo piece confirms these developments by adding that Blinken will soon head to the MidEast to try to finalize this deal by convincing Saudi Arabia to agree to normalize its relations with Israel on the express condition that Israel not only fully ends the Gaza conflict, but commits to creating a Palestinian state which includes Gaza and the West Bank.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken plans to travel to the Middle East soon. He'll probably stop first in Saudi Arabia, where he hopes for a renewed pledge from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to normalize relations with Israel if and only if Israel ends the Gaza conflict and commits to the eventual creation of a Palestinian state that includes Gaza and the West Bank."

So this avoids War with Iran, theoretically. The question is how the Israeli Likud will respond. Go along with this, or pre-empt the plan with an attack on southern Lebanon to broaden the war (or as stated in the previous message, a USS Liberty type incident).

Good reminder.

After all these years of financial aid to Israel it's time to put our own citizens first.

Especially all our service veterans suffering from PTSD and homelessness.

Alternatively, maybe the defenders systematically used every woman, child, and civilian building to hide behind as they gave up as little ground as possible to draw out the war.

It does seem Israel is being much less discriminatory than normal, but they are at war. Hamas hiding behind civilians is what makes the death tally so horrific.

I am plenty willing to blame Israel for plenty, but as you say, this is the latest in a tit for tat, and if Israel all the suddenly stops its tit, the tat would eventually overwhelm and destroy them.

Removing tactical capability while reducing the loss of life is par for the course, but if days of B-1 bombings ensue with 85 targets hit every day, I'd call it an appropriate response of overwhelming strength.

What caused this was basically a joke. Child's play, and embarrassing that it worked. It wasn't a siege or invasion. Avoiding war with Iran is key, which the admimistration seems to be doing.

Obviously to give Biden too much credit for this would be dumb. The military has these sorts of missions ready at all times. But at the same time, any Republicans president sends bombers to bomb these militant targets over a period of days, you guys jump for joy.

Someone is going to win, and someone is going to lose battles and wars. It's pretty easy to see the outcomes that are better for us.

In reality, it goes back 4,000 years to Abraham & Sarah being impatient with God do he had Ishmael with Hagar, Sarah's servant. Ishmael is father of the Arabs.

But the current situation began on October 7 when Hamas violated a ceasefire in place. Israel was at peace with her neighbors at unprecedented levels, thanks to the Abraham Accords (appropriately named). Some of the Gulf States had recently joined and talks were underway with Saudi Arabia.

If our politicians were transferring billions of dollars from American taxpayers to the British every year while they built settlements in Ireland and waged ethnic war with their local Celtic enemies ….some of us might start asking questions at the very least

Had dinner last night with a long time best friend and retired army colonel.

Asked him what he thought of all the recent US air strikes.

Replied they were a total joke . That we had sent repeated warnings where and when the strikes would be. Said it all was a meaningless political show.

He also felt there was still some kind of political connection running between OBAMA ( through Biden ) with the Iranian leadership.

' Review the money transfers '.

Before we can even consider this guy's opinion and how well informed it is, we need to know how much money he makes, what is his post-service occupation, and has he sired any younglings?

I have a childhood friend flying F35s and will get his input. What branch is this colonel from?

I listen intently to the Colonels viewpoints as he has been very successful in his post retirement real estate ventures, volunteers helping others throughout the country via his Church, has cared devotedly to his wife of 45 years who suffered a horrible stroke 3 years ago. ( saw her walk unaided for the first time last night ) and somehow managed to keep all of his children alive despite 2 of them making disastrous life choices.

As a result I hold the Colonel in extremely high regard and consider his opinions worth respecting.

You in the other hand persist in demonstrating a ridiculously immature, uninformed and hopelessly entitled persona.
Suspect your parents did their best to protect you, but the resulting adult is highly unlikely to accomplish jack.

Which is why I have zero respect for you or your viewpoints .

The Colonel served his country throughout the world for 25 years. His wife is a wonderful southern lady. One of the finest women I have ever known. Like her husband she is a devout Christian. Her Faith has helped her rebuild from the stroke.

His eldest son followed in his Dads footsteps also reaching the rank of colonel.
