Social media bomb throwers and right wing anti-Semites revived this left wing nut job as someone worth listening to. He's the neo-Noam Chomsky.

There is a difference between defending free speech and supporting genocidal terrorists. Anyone who understands the phrase "from the river to the sea" knows it is an example of the latter.

I'd post a source debunking that claim, but ATL already did us the courtesy.

Because Jeff Sachs's web site is an objective source of info on issues related to Jeff Sachs. Gotcha

I don't know that the meaning of "from the river to the sea" is an issue particularly related to Jeff Sachs, but feel free to point out his error regarding the phrase.

You referenced ATLBear & it's in your most recent post quoting him.

Right, but you're not really countering his argument just by saying it's on his website. A lot of people post their own arguments on their own websites.

CBS is another fascist propaganda outlet. They aren't trustworthy. They haven't been for years. I remember when Dan Rather destroyed his career using fake documents in a hatchet job against W.

What you see there is stone cold irony.

We hear all the time that Israel owns USG policy in the Middle East. Yet, we hear little of an equal problem - Arab influence on USG policy in the middle east. The US Dept of State is structurally pro-Arab. Always has been. Likely always will be. Former State Dep geographyer Dr. Colbert Held taught a Political Geography class at BU. It was one of the best, most useful courses I took - how & why borders come & go, the forces that push & pull on them, the meanings of "nation" and "state," etc...... He was quite pro-Arab, described our pro-Israel policy as crazy...."why would we form a policy which alienates so many countries in the Middle East?" He didn't harp on it at all. Mentioned it only a couple of times.

He was a quite genial fellow, pragmatic, not at all an islamist or intersectionalist or anything like that. One of the top 3 or 4 favorite classes from my 6yrs getting 2 degrees. Just never understood why he couldn't see the weaknesses of the pro-Arab options. I suppose it was because he was trained as a Geographer, rather than in a national security portfolio. Morel likely, it was just that he was an academic - the academy is structurally hostile to a lot of things Americans at large support, particularly Israel. And then he went to Foggy Bottom and fell into the Arab sympathy mindset. You can google him. He's got a ton of pictures archived.

All Rharrit did was accumulate a compendium of Palestinian propaganda.
There is nothing unusual about "collateral damage" in war, particularly when one of the combatants hides amongst women & children.

Both sides know the Biden deal is pretty fair to each of them, that's why they didnt pursue it. They thought they could get a better deal. Their thinking now, is that Trump is too unpredictable to pass up a fair deal right now. Both camps have been saying they don't want a worse deal with Trump in charge.

And of course that is a good thing. Any cease fire means lives are spared, many of them innocents.

There will be 3 phases of negotiation, and this was the easiest. 30 something Israelis for probably hundreds of Palestinians.

The real challenge will be agreeing upon long term governance of Gaza, buffer zones, and on that topic, BBC was reporting that Trump is pro Palestinian statehood, so that might be interesting.

If Israel has weakened Hamas to the point that they don't see themselves as capable of major offensives against Israel in the immediate to mid future, they might actually go for some sort of co-existence.

It has been presented to them many times, but they always had rathered just kill Jews. This may be a real opportunity for something similar to peace.
