Japan is certainly not socialist

Israel is not either

And really socialism is an economic system that essentially turns all businesses into co ops and doesn't allow shareholders. It's never worked and never will work.

He's confusing socialism with welfare.

So you are admitting the Indians did NOT build this country. What an odd interpretation? I am not admitting your false narrative. I am admitting that the cultures, civilizations, and intelligence of the Indigenous Peoples created a loose confederation and trade among these cultures that is a "country" called Mesoamerica, North America, Central America, and South America.

There was not a country called the United States in North America before its creation by British Colonial subjects.

There were of course stone age level Indian nations (or tribal groupings) living in North America.

But those were not modern Nation States...and they did not conceive of themselves as such.

The Indigenous People built this country and then we or France or England or Spain stole it from them.
But they didn't...

Or maybe we are using different definition for terms like "built"

Native Indian tribes built no large European style modern cities, no ports, no harbors, no major road networks, no railroads, no centralized governmental administrations or modern bureaucratic government, no centrally controlled national army, no central capital city, no national postal service, etc.

How would you define them "building" the United States of America?

They aren't able to do both. All they do is spend ridiculous sums of money on what the democrats want, regardless of which party is in charge. Often times the money is spent (wasted) against the will of the general population.

It is a pretty bold statement to say that 365 million agree on anything and that spending is against everyone's will. There is even spending that may go against the majority's view, we elect people. We don't vote on individual items. Every time I have seen a referendum, the State has followed the people's will.

Do we need to go back over that "border bill"?

It did nothing to stop mass immigration.

[When it comes to policy, this bill would have codified a new catch-and-release policy, and normalized up to 5,000 illegal crossing encounters a day. The emergency authority contained in the bill, which was supposed to tame the millions streaming over our border, would have only operated for a limited number of days per year, and would completely disappear after three years. As my Democratic colleague Chris Murphy wrote in a post on X, under this bill 'the border never closes.'

"This bill also would have given immediate work permits to those who claim asylum and pass their initial screening, even if they entered illegally. It would have provided taxpayer-funded lawyers to unaccompanied minors, and it would have dedicated billions of taxpayer dollars to sanctuary cities and the nonprofits enabling this unprecedented level of illegal immigration. One of the provisions I found particularly egregious was that it would have stripped the jurisdiction from Texas federal courts to hear Texas' own legal challenges to some of the bill's most important provisions, and instead give these cases to the left-leaning D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.

"This bill was also terrible politically. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson said it was dead on arrival in the House, so it had no chance of passing there]

The bill also did not even count children to the number of migrants crossing.

Literally a unlimited number of minors could have crossed

I don't disagree with you here. Some spending is needed for sure. Its a matter of priorities. Spending money we are borrowing while tremendously already in debt to fight foreign wars seems incredibly stupid to me.

I'm in the medical field and what I see year after year is cuts to providers. If we are lucky, (after costly, time consuming lobbying) every few years they throw a few hundred million or 1 billion into the medicare pot. to help mitigate previous cuts

But if Zelensky calls, they bend over backwards to give him 100 billion dollars. As a matter of fact they break out into celebration after doing it. Its really sickening.

This is just not true. The Border Emergency Authority is triggered if the border "encounters" reach a daily average of 4,000 over a period of seven days and would become mandatory once border encounters reach over 5,000 over a period of seven days or 8,500 over a single calendar day. The number of asylum seekers would then by capped at 1,400 at ports of entry...not 5,000.

Limited number of days? Had it passed the border could have been under emergency authority for 84% of 2024 lol.

Oklahoma Republican Sen. James Lankford, said he believes there will be "significant" ramifications if the GOP completely walks away from the deal he helped write. He expressed dismay that some of the lawmakers opposing the package don't actually understand how the proposed changes in immigration law would work.

"That's the part that's disappointing to me," Lankford said. "If you're going to disagree with it, disagree with it based on the facts of the bill, not something that's actually factually not true."

Not to mention the bill would have added
1,500 new border and custom personnel
4,300 asylum officers
100 additional immigration judges.

And yeah I believe America should not be turning away or deporting unaccompanied minors. "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven"

You are simply playing words games.

Indians were in fact many different tribes.

Usually distinct from each other culturally and linguistically.

In some cases as different as Swedes to Arabs.

They fought each other constantly. Massacres were common as the losers were never given the safety of a reservation.

And the tribes lost the land the exact same way they acquired it……..by violence.

Again I encourage you to read the entire bill and the commentary around it.

Hiring new border agents is useless if they are just there to wave illegals through the border and not turn back mass 3rd world immigration.

And while you might not care if 3rd worlders are kids or adults..I can assure you the American people who have to deal with them care…

There are also so many loop holes in this bill that is obviously a mass migration management bill and NOT a stop mass migration bill

You are being played and don't even realize it. China wants the US to pull out of the world stage. Putin wants the US out of Europe. Hamas wants the US out the Middle East. BRIC wants the US weakened and out. They want a US civil war. MAGA is a godsend to China.

The soft power battle for economic supremacy with China was lost 30 years ago when Bill Clinton granted China MFN status just four years after the Tianmen Square massacre. Those of us who knew better and understood the threat this would create in the future warned against it repeatedly. But quarterly profits, campaign contributions, or something. Heck, four years after Covid our supply chains still originate in China.

If you want to read the musings of those traitors they can be found right here at USC's US-China Institute. Wonder how many zeros that CCP donation took to set up.

https://china.usc.edu/statement-president-clinton-most-favored-nation-status-china-1993

If anything has turned us into a regional power it is our own shortsightedness and flawed economic and fiscal policy. How weak a regional power we end up being depends largely on how long we insist on trying to play globocop with the national credit card.

Yet, it has not turned around in 30+ years. Revoke it. Trump had the opportunity in 2016. Yet, here we are.

So, what is your answer? Pull back and save nickels? You really think we can "cut spending" our way out of the current economic situation? Do the math, it isn't happening. And that is if we HAD the political will to follow through. Growth and economic expansion is the only way to undo this mess. Maybe Trump is the right guy, but pulling back and reducing our global footprint is not going to help.

A reorganization of our military? All for it. More Navy, Coast Guard, Air Force and Space to protect growth avenues. Less Army and Marines? Ok, I can see that. Those systems are not getting cheaper. There has to be some strategy with an end in mind. Right now, it is scatterplot. I am sure we can do it, but it needs someone that can unite. Because right now, it is a ****-show.

I am interested in how voting for a few Reps. like that would "turn the US into a regional power"?

The USA is the largest economy on earth (and also has the reserve currency)

It has the largest military alliance on earth.

Its building 11 massive new $13 billon dollar aircraft carriers to patrol the worlds oceans.

How would this change with some conservatives in the House of that type?
