house is NOT holding. You can thank your savior Jesus Trump. Gonna be a bloodbath and they/we deserve it.

Not to mention markets. If Europe starts pulling from US markets, it could get nasty.

More unserious commentary. Europe is not going to withdraw from US markets. It would be economic suicide, in exchange for an ice encrusted Arctic island they've ignored for centuries.

Talk about irony.

I think a fitting Nietzsche quote is "In individuals, insanity is rare; but in groups, parties, nations, and epochs, it is the rule."

few things have cultivated insanity as a identity quite like neverTrumpism.

Or Trumpism.

Trump's antics have not caused harm to or collapse of NATO. Same for trade relationships. They have, however, spurred renewed focus and greater spending on a neglected island of great strategic importance to us. But the neverTrumper cannot see that, because to do so threatens self-image

We all agree with that. The sticking point is ownership. Denmark does not want to sell. Greenland does not want be annexed. Trump has threatened military. We can make any security changes we want right now. But a Division there and a Destroyer Group, we have an existing treaty.

It is Trump's rhetoric causing the issue.

Yes Trump's rhetoric is driving a favorable response. You have trouble with seeing what is going right in front of you. The US will either own Greenland or the EU will step up and become greater partners with the US in defense of the arctic. This is so simple, you just can't handle anything but the literal spelling out every single thing. Trump would prefer to own it, but the US wins either way. So very simple, and all due to him being a "bully".

You are the only one seeing the "or" proposition. He is not backing down from the US getting Greenland. When has Trump EVER said that he failed to do something or was wrong? Seriously, when has he said what I said was only a ruse to get this other thing done? Did he do it with NATO military spending? No, he told them pony up or we are out. I think you are seeing something that is not there. But, who knows! Pigs may fly or Donald says I failed to get Greenland.

By the way, did you see this? I know, means nothing.

Danish pension fund to sell $100 million in Treasurys, citing 'poor' US government finances

Trump has modified his approach multiple times. He takes in new information and changes path - tariffs are the prime example.

You have such a brain fog around Trump. He's not going to invade Greenland. Only leftists/TDSers actually buy into that.

He will force the issue until he's pushed it as far as he can. I hope he is successful.

Name one thing Trump has admitted he didn't get what he wanted

Given how consistently you've been wrong about him, you might want to go down that road.

What have I been wrong about? Beating Biden? Any one with. a pulse could beat him and Kamala.

DOGE has been a disaster, they are hiring people back daily. We are just recovering from it now. Tariffs remain to be seen.
So what have i been wrong about? His tactics are a disgrace to the office. I stand by that.

See. Wrong again. DOGE was not a disaster. It identified enormous problems. it led to approx $150b in direct cuts, nearly 10% of the deficit. Less than hoped, but a good head start. It also identified a number of reforms to streamline govt, particularly in IT. If that was a "failure," then why is Schumer shaking his fist in anger to restore the cuts? I mean, the cuts are big enough to fire up the Democrat base, so they can't be "a failure," can they?
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/schumer-reveals-plans-reverse-doge-cuts-lawmakers-work-through-funding-push

Remain to be seen on tariffs? Tariffs have generated significant revenue (helping lower federal budget deficit) and done precisely what tariffs are intended to do on trade = reduce the trade deficit. It was textbook stuff.

You're wrong about damned near everything, friend, because all you do is 8itch about the guy 24/7. Yes, he can be an ass. He's also very, very relentless and effective at making progress doing the things he was elected to do. So I can put up with the schtick. It works for him. But you don't care that he's accomplishing the very things you say you want, because he's doing in a way that embarrasses you.

Frankly, the schtick has grown on me. I am increasingly amused at the way it inflames the vanities of unserious people.

Give me a break, how many of those savings were realized? How many were added back when they figured out they actually served a purpose. Most of what was cut was the support contracts for the Agencies, making providing their services harder and stopping modernization. And chasing almost all the institutional knowledge out of Federal Service. The people that left were the ones that had choices, in other words the good ones. Most got hired immediately, others started their own businesses competing for Government Contracts and the rest retired (the ones that stuck around because they actually gave a ****).

All that DOGE did was clear the path for certain vendors to get access to Government dollars. You idiots put Elon the guy with the biggest financial nut to gain in charge of clearing out his competition and oversight. Well done.

Let's see how much "savings" are actually realized.

The scary part is we have a part of the population that believes we are invincible and are supporting moves that will destroy 100 year old alliances that we created. Such hubris is scary. That usually happens before a statement like "that SHOULD not have happened" or "that was stupid of them to do that".

Human nature, people will take on pain if they believe they have been wronged, rather than see the one who betrayed them prosper. Europe and NATO believe they are the ones being wronged. But they all failed.

If Trump has in fact succeeded….it will be still another impressive achievement.

Apparently Trump has got what he wanted in regards to Greenland.

Without any military issues.

Stock market seems happy about it.....at least for today.

the neverTrumpers are the Wile E. Coyotes of the political world. So predictably, often spectacularly wrong.

Well it looks like the drama queens can sleep easy tonight. Thanks to their very public wailing, Trump has backed off the invasion plans, so the US won't be bombing the poor people of Greenland. Thank you TDSers, you saved the planet once again.

Now, one restful nigh for you, well deserved. And tomorrow, you can find something else to beech and moan about.

{slow clap}

I am sure he and his Merry Gang of MAGA will give us and the world something else to head off and insult some Nation.

Maybe he can threaten some Island nation Barton wants?

What Nationality will get picked for deportation today on the Stephen Miller wheel of deplorables,as Dean Martin songs in the background?

Maybe trash the "special relationship" with England over some golf course he wants?

Ah, the day is young, we can threaten and insult so many in one day. After all Canada doesn't exist without us. Gotta be proud...

Every American president in the modern era has made a run at Greenland. Turns out, Trump succeeded where others have failed. Obvious conclusion to most rational people is the it took a bit of *******ry to get the job done done.

Just admit it - you would rather accomplish nothing than ruffle feathers to accomplish a lot.

Before you call this guy a shill for Trump, you might want to google his name - Mark Rutte.

Still another major accomplishment for Trump.

As our NATO 'allies' ignored many other such requests from previous presidents.

I find it odd that Trump haters keep pretending that Trump has been am ineffective president.

When the evidence is crystal clear he has accomplished more than any president since FDR.

I blame Trump himself for much of this response. As he brags constantly and insults those that challenge him on any topic.

If Trump had Reagan's style.....Trump would get far more praise from the American people.

Trump could be the most stylish man on earth and the media would treat him exactly the same.
Our vibrations were getting nasty. But why? I was puzzled, frustrated... Had we deteriorated to the level of dumb beasts?
