Dan Patrick says Republicans will "have a tough time" holding Texas House majority in November
The lieutenant governor's remarks are the latest sign that Republicans are worried about the fall midterms. The GOP has controlled the state House since 2003 and currently has an 88-62 advantage.

He understands that Dems are going to spend a ton, so we have to raise alarm bells and match the fundraising.

He also understands we have some limp-wristed Republicans who would rather virtue posture than win, who quite illogically would rather brag about losing an election to a politician with distasteful policies than to win an election by voting someone they agree with on most policies but who has a distasteful personal life. Completely nuts, that.

One of the greatest confusions in American life results, and maybe always has, from not knowing how to distinguish between fhe popular vote and the popularity contest.

No.
No more than human sacrifice would be.

If the government creates content neutral limitations (in this instance setting up any competing legal system not merely Sharia) on activities and the activities implicate public safety issues, the limitations are Constitutionally permissible.

But nice try to create false Constitutional issues.

If you want to make a lefty squirm, ask him if a sharia enclave in Texas is also anti-Christian.

Is the sharia enclave legal and free exercise of religion?

No.
No more than human sacrifice would be.

If the government creates content neutral limitations (in this instance setting up any competing legal system not merely Sharia) on activities and the activities implicate public safety issues, the limitations are Constitutionally permissible.

But nice try to create false Constitutional issues.

Developers denied the community would operate under Sharia law or restrict residency based on faith, stating it was intended to be an integrated community, though earlier reports suggested otherwise.

Again……you mislead.

That statute is a prohibition on restraint on alienation plus certain transaction disclosure requirements.
It doesn't ban any religious activity.

Does it bother you to be such a liar?
disclosing that the interest being sold is personal property not real property……
allowing people to sell what they own without restrictions……
these concepts aren't some crazy diabolical religious plan

Stop playing games.

anyone, attorney or not, can see right through your games.
Simply putting your assertion (freedom of religion violation) in the form of a question is nothing more than elevating form over function.

what is next? Ask everyone if they beat their wife regularly?

"One of the issues at stake is the freedom of religion," said Governor Abbott. "Another issue at stake is what's called the right to contract. The fact is, religious freedom is a central part of the Texas Constitution. But bad actors like EPIC and EPIC City tried to use religion as a form of segregation. We will ensure that we have the laws and law enforcement in place to prevent attempts to build such discriminatory compounds in the state of Texas."

So you didn't have the guts to admit "none". Noted.

So an R statute to prevent religious discrimination in real property transactions (drafted in the same vein in which race based restrictions on real property transfers were shot down by SCOTUS in Shelley v Kraemer (1948)) is somehow a Constitutional violation?

Admit the obvious……you hate Rs, you love Islam, you scream constitutional violation without any basis, and you are big mad at living in Red Texas.
