Noem says she was basically stalking and harassing ICE officers, then tried to run either 1 over, or several. I hate to think that she was just some loon that thought she was fighting for justice and got carried away. She had a 6 year old. Sad story.

How is this any different?

If this was the FBI killing people over anti-Israel demonstrations or the IRS invading someone's home and shooting them dead bcs they didnt pay taxes to a corrupt government who doesnt represent them... I'd agree with the reactionary sentiment to fight to the death.

Instead, this is a dumb ***** was fighting ICE over the deportation of Somali con-artists who have stolen billions from the American tax payer.

It's really such a simple rule to just obey the commands of a law enforcement officer if you are pulled over or detained. At best nothing good is going to come from resisting or trying to flee, or attacking the officer, and at worst you might end up dead as was the case with this incident. If you do so and legitimately feel you or your rights were abused, then exercise your right to pursue it through the legal system. It's really that simple.

Imagine trying that bull**** with Texas Rangers or Department of Public Safety officers. Hell try that bull**** with
El Paso deputies. She would have been dead far earlier.

Walz and the Minneapolis mayor are actually happy about this and are all on board with continuing to fan the flames hoping for more burning, looting, and rioting as a distraction from the massive Somali fraud issues they allowed to proliferate in the name of protecting a block voting base. The only thing they aren't excited about is that the woman who died was white.

There is video from another angle. He did get hit by the car to a lesser degree. Did it warrant being gunned down? Unsure...

Homeland Security Secretary (DHS) Kristi Noem alleged at a press conference on Wednesday that the woman who was shot and killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer was "stalking and impeding" agents all day.

Noem told reporters that ICE agents repeatedly instructed the victim, Renee Nicole Good, 37, to get out of her car and stop "obstructing" law enforcement but she did not comply.

The agency is labeling the incident as an act of "domestic terrorism."

Video of the scene showed Good's car in the middle of the street in a residential neighborhood as ICE agents in a dark gray Nissan Titan truck got out and approached her vehicle.

Is it as simple as this? Some people don't want our national immigration laws enforced. If so, then you need to get them changed. Otherwise, they should probably be enforced.

The videos are somewhat ambiguous if you're not 100% convinced one way or another before you view them.

That said, in baseball, the tie goes to the runner. In a police / civilian confrontation, the tie goes to the police officer who is in front of your car while you're accelerating. He can't be required to just sit there and think "Boy, I hope she turns off this enough that it doesn't hurt me too badly." I mean, the woman was crazy enough to be driving around in the middle of the police officers in the first place with an intent to obstruct their activities. You're not really trusting her judgment at that point.

It looked to me like she was revving her car and moving it at an ICE agent who had warned her to stop it. I think the moment got the better of her and she ended up doing something incredibly stupid. Could the agent have risked his life and taken a chance that she wasn't going to hit him? Maybe. But should he be required to do that? No.

The other thing people are missing is that the woman likely was looking to her left at the officer cussing at her and trying to open her door when she began moving forward. There is a decent chance she never saw the officer who. shot her.

Guess what - if you are being detained or given an order by a law-enforcement officer, you aren't allowed to simply ignore it and "leave" and you certainly aren't allowed to willfully to drive a vehicle at a law enforcement officer regardless of the speed of the vehicle. And it's just as much breaking the law as trying to forcefully enter a restricted building, facility, or area.

Why shouldn't our law enforcement be enforcing our bipartisanship immigration laws?

Democracy! Is at stake.

Yeah, I'm a little confused by all the anti-ICE handwringing.

Is it as simple as this? Some people don't want our national immigration laws enforced. If so, then you need to get them changed. Otherwise, they should probably be enforced.

What else am I missing?

How is this any different?

If this was the FBI killing people over anti-Israel demonstrations or the IRS invading someone's home and shooting them dead bcs they didnt pay taxes to a corrupt government who doesnt represent them... I'd agree with the reactionary sentiment to fight to the death.

Instead, this is a dumb ***** was fighting ICE over the deportation of Somali con-artists who have stolen billions from the American tax payer.

Learn to choose your battles.

What is different is that the woman was shot trying to leave while Babbit was shot trying to enter.

Language like the emphaisized is despicable and distinctly un-Christian. You should be ashamed.

Babbit was unarmed and not piloting a vehicle that could be used as a deadly weapon. Babbits killer should absolutely be in prison.

Circular logic. When the interaction started the Minnesota woman was not piloting a vehicle either. It was stationary. The car clearly moved in response to ICE agents; if they would work at de-escalating instead of intimidating, there is a good chance none of this happens.

ICE repeatedly contravenes good police procedure, these are the results.

Guess what - if you are being detained or given an order by a law-enforcement officer, you aren't allowed to simply ignore it and "leave" and you certainly aren't allowed to willfully to drive a vehicle at a law enforcement officer regardless of the speed of the vehicle. And it's just as much breaking the law as trying to forcefully enter a restricted building, facility, or area.

I didn't say she shouldn't be arrested.

Regular police deal with difficult people thousands of times a day, every day. Incidents like yesterday are exceedingly rare, becuase regular police are good at deescalating. ICE is the opposite. If you do not immediately obey the masked, ambiguously marked "law enforcement" they immediately ratchet up the intimidation. It is poor policing and it leads to results like yesterday.

Where do you think the woman was looking when she depressed the accelerator? I think she was looking at the guy to her immediate left trying to force his way into her car. Decent chance she never even saw the shooter, let alone "aimed at him."

Whilst she probably shouldnt have tried to drive away, its blindingly obvious that she wasnt trying to murder any ICE officers, by the time the officer draws his weapon he is already by the side of the car and in no danger at all, its a really dumb and unexcusable escalation to fire his weapon in that situation and trying to paint the victim as a Domestic Terrorist is pathetic.
