Were you this outraged when Ashli Babbitt got shot?

How is this any different?

If this was the FBI killing people over anti-Israel demonstrations or the IRS invading someone's home and shooting them dead bcs they didnt pay taxes to a corrupt government who doesnt represent them... I'd agree with the reactionary sentiment to fight to the death.

Instead, this is a dumb ***** was fighting ICE over the deportation of Somali con-artists who have stolen billions from the American tax payer.

Learn to choose your battles.

What is different is that the woman was shot trying to leave while Babbit was shot trying to enter.

Language like the emphaisized is despicable and distinctly un-Christian. You should be ashamed.

Babbit was unarmed and not piloting a vehicle that could be used as a deadly weapon. Babbits killer should absolutely be in prison.

Circular logic. When the interaction started the Minnesota woman was not piloting a vehicle either. It was stationary. The car clearly moved in response to ICE agents; if they would work at de-escalating instead of intimidating, there is a good chance none of this happens.

ICE repeatedly contravenes good police procedure, these are the results.

How in the world is it the responsibility of ICE agents to "de-escalate" anything when they're simply doing their job - that was oh by the way mandated per the 2024 election - and someone is physically trying to stop or obstruct them? The woman was given the chance to comply and exit the vehicle and she CHOSE to disobey and drive the vehicle at another ICE agent. What kind of "de-escalation" of the ICE agent would you suggest? Just stand there hoping he doesn't get killed or hurt? Just say "what the hell" and let her get away?

Yes, it's unfortunate that she died - but as the saying goes - "if you play with fire, don't be surprised if you get burned".

There is video from another angle. He did get hit by the car to a lesser degree. Did it warrant being gunned down? Unsure...

If she just complied. She would still be alive. It is as easy as that. That is for sure.

The videos are somewhat ambiguous if you're not 100% convinced one way or another before you view them.

That said, in baseball, the tie goes to the runner. In a police / civilian confrontation, the tie goes to the police officer who is in front of your car while you're accelerating. He can't be required to just sit there and think "Boy, I hope she turns off this enough that it doesn't hurt me too badly." I mean, the woman was crazy enough to be driving around in the middle of the police officers in the first place with an intent to obstruct their activities. You're not really trusting her judgment at that point.

No he can't be required to just stand there, but by the time she started moving forward, he could have simply moved out of the way with a step or two. It's not clear whether she even knew he was there.

While she may have deserved to be arrested, that does not look like grounds for killing someone. It looks like reckless police work.

What is different is that the woman was shot trying to leave while Babbit was shot trying to enter.

Guess what - if you are being detained or given an order by a law-enforcement officer, you aren't allowed to simply ignore it and "leave" and you certainly aren't allowed to willfully to drive a vehicle at a law enforcement officer regardless of the speed of the vehicle. And it's just as much breaking the law as trying to forcefully enter a restricted building, facility, or area.

I didn't say she shouldn't be arrested.

Regular police deal with difficult people thousands of times a day, every day. Incidents like yesterday are exceedingly rare, becuase regular police are good at deescalating. ICE is the opposite. If you do not immediately obey the masked, ambiguously marked "law enforcement" they immediately ratchet up the intimidation. It is poor policing and it leads to results like yesterday.

Where do you think the woman was looking when she depressed the accelerator? I think she was looking at the guy to her immediate left trying to force his way into her car. Decent chance she never even saw the shooter, let alone "aimed at him."

Then she is even more of an idiot. You do not accelerate without looking in front of you. You don't drive but look to the side. That is car driving 101.

As to ICE not deescalating things that is because the paid agitators they are dealing with will not listen to reason or lawful commands.

Captain QuickStop was posting "Ashli Babbitt FAFO" yesterday and is losing his tampon over this today.

listen up Nazi boy. I don't even know who that is because I'm not like you Nazi Maggott Turds who can't help but live in the past. Hey Hammerskin, do you agree with ICE shooting? simple yes or no will suffice and then you can put back on your headset and get back to your customer service cube farm.

Depending on which video you look at, it looks to me like she did hit him. Glancing blow. He was moving one way, she was turning the other (which became more apparent as and after he shot than it was when he pulled the weapon), but at the moment he shot he was in front of her car and about to be (and was) hit. It was a bang-bang play, as they say.

I tend to think he should've just bailed out of the way and did not have to shoot her, but I'm also not the one who was in front of the moving car driven by a lady whose mere presence at that place and time tells me she's got particularly bad judgment.

Why shouldn't our law enforcement be enforcing our bipartisanship immigration laws?

Democracy! Is at stake.

Yeah, I'm a little confused by all the anti-ICE handwringing.

Is it as simple as this? Some people don't want our national immigration laws enforced. If so, then you need to get them changed. Otherwise, they should probably be enforced.

What else am I missing?

That civil disobedience, whter right or worng, is not punishable by death.

The other thing people are missing is that the woman likely was looking to her left at the officer cussing at her and trying to open her door when she began moving forward. There is a decent chance she never saw the officer who. shot her.

None of that addressed my question, at all.

It does answer your question. How did the civil rights laws change? About a decade of civil disobedience convinced people the law needed to change.

Why can't ICE agents act like law enforcement professionals? No cop who is concerned about a traffic obstruction is going to act like those guys yesterday. He was cussing at her, advancing rapidly, trying to yank her door open. He was masked and it is never clear who these people are.

This is a terrible situation, and a tragedy. There's nothing to celebrate about anyone being killed in a law enforcement situation. But the job of law enforcement is really, really difficult already without agitators opposing them. The sheer irresponsibility of the elected officials in these towns in openly encouraging citizens to engage physically in opposition to officers is mind-boggling and the results are sadly very predictable.

She should have been cited for a traffic violation and maybe arrested for evading arrest if she did not stop after moving her car. Shooting her was ridiculous.

Why can't ICE agents act like law enforcement professionals? No cop who is concerned about a traffic obstruction is going to act like those guys yesterday. He was cussing at her, advancing rapidly, trying to yank her door open. He was masked and it is never clear who these people are.

Act like a Texas State Trooper and we are not having this discussion.

LOL... she was well aware these were ICE agents. She drove out of her way to confront them. She wanted to go to war.

If anything the sentiment that someone showed up masked and acting aggressively it would be her, not the ICE agents.

She was the aggressor and antagonist by every conceivable measure.

That pesky First Amendment does allow freedom of assembly and expression. Deeply ironic that all the freedom lovers want to take away those freedoms.

Freedom of assembly does not include citizens engaging physically in opposition to officers behaving lawfully.

She wasn't. She was just sitting in her car. The officers engaged her and did so in a threatening and abusive manner (Listen to the video and you will hear "Get the F--- out of the car.") Again, act like a Texas State trooper making a traffic stop and there is no thread about this today.

And I am not aware of any elected official encouraging physical confrontation.

Yes she was, even if you refuse to accept it. She also hit the ICE agent before he fired the shot. It's all on video. Either your ignorance or you deception is willful.

You can say it all you want, but she was in fact sitting alone in her car when ICE engaged her. She then tried to leave. How is that physically opposing them?

Parking your car does not make you an aggressor.

And no, she was not from Chicago. This happened in the victim's neighborhood.

ICE casues her to panic, shoots her, and then says-hey don't panic. Great logic. Professional law enforcement does not work that way. De-escalate first.

She should have been cited for a traffic violation and maybe arrested for evading arrest if she did not stop after moving her car. Shooting her was ridiculous.

Paid agitators? Thanks George Wallace.

I am kind of with Robert on this one, and think the agent probably could have avoided shooting her (though I wasn't in his shoes with his vantage point).

But let's be clear about who this lady was and what she was doing. She is a social justice warrior who was deliberately in the center of the road attempting to block the paths of federal agents. She decided to flee in order to avoid arrest for breaking the law when a couple of agents approached her, with hands on her vehicle. When you are a social justice warrior willing to break laws and operate with impunity around federal agents, sorry, but being panicked is not a legitimate excuse for trying to flee and almost running them over.

It's really such a simple rule to just obey the commands of a law enforcement officer if you are pulled over or detained. At best nothing good is going to come from resisting or trying to flee, or attacking the officer, and at worst you might end up dead as was the case with this incident. If you do so and legitimately feel you or your rights were abused, then exercise your right to pursue it through the legal system. It's really that simple.

There is a decent chance she never saw the officer who. shot her.

Saying civil disobedience is not punishable by death implies that you know what the action was.

Blocking an intersection is disobedience, so is driving your vehicle at a LEO.

There are varying degrees of disobedience. Anyone that has raised a child or ever was a child knows that.

Ignorant comment.

You heard the conversation? You saw where she was looking?

Dude, give it a rest and let the investigation play out.

She was harassing them previously. She was NOT innocently (and insanely) just randomly parked in the middle of the road. Finding biased sources that omit such information only explains why you're pushing lies. Video evidence exist. She hit the agent in front of her car, not the one at her window. Facts matter.

While I think your facts are wrong. First, watch the video. First, the victim's car is already movng forward at the start of the video when she brakes for the SUV that cuts in front of her. It is likely that she was in the process of moving her car before the officers engaged her. If you watch closely, you will see after the first SUV passes in front of her, she waves to the ICE car to go by her. That hardly seems like she was impeding them.

Second, the officer advancing on her car gives her zero opportunity to "Get the F--- out of the car" (his words from another video). Any reasonable person watcing the video would think that there is some risk that the ski masked agent was going to be physically violent.

Third, her first instinct when the agent approaches her is to back up, not to go forward. It seems obvious that she would do so to make sure she could turn right and stay on the street, not drive forward.

Fourth, her wheels clearly turn to the right to confirm the third point.

From all that it is pretty clear she was going to move her car. Maybe she was going to flee, maybe she was going to move to the side. But if the goal of the officers was to have her stop "Impeding them" (in quotes, becuase they could claerly just have gone around her and in fact she indicated they should), then why don't they let her clear the street?

Fifth, where did the shooter come from? He wasn't there when the first car cleared the victim's car. He appears to have advanced from the SUV to the right to the front of the victim's SUV while she was engaged with the advancing officer. So, again, good chance that she did not even know he was there.

Sixth, if the officer was hit, it was the slightest of grazes, The guy falling was the driver side door guy, no the shooter. The shooter doesnt even lose his balance on what appears to be a slick, maybe icy, street.

If facts matter to you, maybey you should get yours straight.
