No you are wrong. What it shows is that the leftist in this school and country have been taught nothing good about our country nor how attaining Liberty and Freedom works.I am so sick of the left wing hate in this country I could spit %&(#$
I don't know. It seems you and TMYLM are the main hate-spewers in this thread.

Respect.

We have people on this forum that define a person's worth based on his/her political beliefs. And not all of them are young and immature. This is messed up. Get a grip.

Take this nonsense to the religion and politics board. This thread is for recognizing and congratulating a former Bear.

You could tell when Colin was at Baylor that he was a really thoughtful, intelligent dude. I'm not surprised at all to see him become the success that he has.
So is he suffering from CTE already? Because no thoughtful person would ever vote Democrat.

A vote for Colin is a vote for Nancy Pelosi. Pure and simple.

https://www.opensecrets.org/races/contributors?cycle=2018&id=TX32&spec=N

His top contributor was a PAC called "Swing Left." We're four pages in, and it almost seems like people are just finding out about Colin. I'd love nothing more than to vote for a former Baylor athlete in any sport, but this guy is Comrade Stalin.

The Democratic Left in this country is trying to make Socialism fashionable again. I wish they'd come down from their Ivory towers and learn about economics from the people that have experienced Socialism first hand. Today I reconnected with a Romanian friend that grew up under the boot of a Socialist government. Her blood boils when she hears people casually talk about Beto O'Rourke and his ideas of socializing industries. She tells the story with tears in her eyes, but she had a sister who grew ill from an infection and they originally went to the state run health clinic and were told to rest, get lots of fluids. Well, the doctor was wrong. What she'd contracted was a full blown infection. Her sister's health worsened and they need antibiotics that weren't freely available in Communist Eastern Europe. They tried franticly to get the antibiotic but she passed away because they simply couldn't get antiobiotics or care.

Granted, no health system is perfect all the time, but if you let the Leftist kooks like History Major Colin Allred make decisions about industries they know nothing about, you'll get to learn what the victims of Socialism have known all along.

If you live in District 32 in Texas and voted for this, you should be deeply ashamed. You just elected someone that worked in the Obama administration that helped sue the people that were fighting the war on terrorism. Who do you think will do that job now? You won't convert Muslim terrorists by hugging them, give that crap up.

For those interested in listening to a podcast interview with Dr. James Mitchell, as done by former Navy Seal and current Texas resident Mike Ritland, here ya go. His book details the steps Pelosi, Holder and Obama took to prosecute him for his efforts in the war on terrorism. Colin is understandably vague about his role in the Obama administration, but his acceptance of funds from Pelosi is not disputed.

The timing of Dr. Mitchell's book release was unfortunate, the public would have benefited if they had known sooner the efforts taken to discredit people performing very difficult work. Remember, these people were ASKED to interrogate terrorists. Deciding later to SUE them is basically shooting them in the back.

Indeed I am. I'll quote my man Ronald Reagan, "Government exists to protect us from each other . Where government has gone beyond its limits is in deciding to protect us from ourselves." If I want to put something God saw fit to create in my body, then no governing body should the arbiter of my "self protection". Freedom baby. Give me liberty or give death, no?

Remember that both the late Mark White and the late Ann Richards were Democrats elected governors of Texas and with Baylor ties. This was back in the day when Texans still elected Democrats for state-wide office.

I could also add Leon Jaworski (lawyer, not politician) who was the Special Prosecutor for Watergate in the 1970s (after Archibald Cox was fired) and was a Baylor graduate as well.

Today, the most prominent Baylor alums in politics I know of are S.C. Rep. (former?) Trey Gowdy and U.S. Senator (& former presidential candidate) Rand Paul (although he did not graduate from Baylor). My brother remembers him being down the hall at Penland.

It's always the same. Those credentials on guys you like is intelligence.

What I giggle at is guys missing that life history and life success saying the guy with it isn't "intelligent".

This is a Baylor Bear and Baylor success story. I celebrate him.
Well, he's highly misinformed on a lot of subjects and unfortunately his degrees didn't supply him with the ability to understand several complex problems.

For instance, he's concerned about the gender pay gap.
The gender pay gap is myth. It doesn't account for behavior differences between the sexes. This is where an intelligent and informed person would start to understand the discrepancy and not react by using government to intervene which creates more problems.

Same with his stance on raising the minimum wage. An intelligent person understands that the market isn't static and the market will react. You raise the MW to $15 an hour..well you just killed a couple million small business jobs, companies will raise their prices to offset and your buying power would virtually be the same.

It takes someone with keen insight to understand these issues. It's very naive to believe government is the solution.

Intelligent was the wrong word. He's extremely misinformed. Very different from the majority of his Baylor peers.
Doc is right. He may be a nice guy and a Baylor Bear but that doesn't mitigate one from being another destructive force in our political system.

Definitely wasn't my intent to spark a ridiculous partisan keyboard war, but I wouldn't say I'm surprised, either.

It's more like how I felt watching the WVU game. Nothing unexpected in the final result, just surprised at how bad it got and how quickly it happened.

My question is why are people so worried about opposing views and confrontations on forums?
That's what forums are designed to do.

The whole CAB vs Anti CAB thing...I don't really think it's that big of a deal.

The fanbase is divided...so what?
People love CMR, some don't care for him...so what?

Everyone is so damn sensitive. We act like someone getting upset is a problem.
I'd be far more worried if no one cared about anything.

I'm not a Democrat, but the crazies in this thread -- and the many others like them -- have pushed this slightly right-of-center moderate further in that direction. I've never really been represented by either of our major parties, but watching the Republican party be hijacked the way it has has all but ensured I'll be voting blue or third party until sanity's restored.
